HBO's "Game of Thrones"

Favorite scene probably because of how it hit/shocked and was so well done and acted for me has to be the Red Wedding.

It's pretty rare that anything surprises me in TV/Movies...I usually have a fairly good idea what will happen or a few ideas of possible outcomes. I did not at all see the Red Wedding coming and they executed it with such well orchestrated brutality.

Best episode of television I've ever seen. Better than any movie I've seen.

And by the way, the ending of that episode was better than the end.
It is my favorite GOT moment. I don't think it is close to a best episode of television episode or movie. I enjoyed it, but it is far from that discussion.
I changed the link, but I still can't find one that has the actual end. The new one I found does feature Tommen, he was absent from my last post.

Only reason I liked Cersei and the Sept more is because of the soundtrack and the slow build. Red Wedding is a close second.

It's hard to narrow down a single scene or two as to the "favorite" moments of the series. There are some that stand out bigly in my mind.

The Hound and Pullivar as mentioned already.

Sansa and Ramsay final scene with the dogs.

Anyone else give a resounding "Yes!" with a clenched fist when Joffrey died?

Robert Baratheon in the tent getting ready for the joust he wanted to do and his interactions with Ned.

Littlefinger's various interactions with Varys.

Tywin being very fatherly to Arya.

Dramatic moments, Sansa and Arya being reunited. Sansa and Jon being reunited as well as the "forgive me" scene at Castle Black.

All the way back to Season 1, Ned's interactions with Arya were always enjoyable to watch.

There were a few subtle moments I found funny. Bronn and Lollys Stokeworth finding Jaime on the beach. Lollys has this "Heyyyyyy!" dreamy look in her eyes when Bronn introduces him and Bronn finds it disgusting.

We will have to agree to disagree. I think that episode was perfect and ranks over Ozymandias for me.

You crazy lol. But really, if that is your ranking, go for it. There are levels. It will never reach the Sopranos, that is completely out of this notion. The only thing that ranks over Ozymandias is the Sopranos and Mad Men.

The Battle of the Bastards cinematography was incredible. I loved the final scenes with Theon and when Arya stuck that Night King.. Anything with Arya/Hound, Jaime/Brienne or Tyrion/Jaime ... Love Sansa and Theon scenes. Getting rid of Joffrey was my favorite -- I am rewatching now, and I want to kick the TV whenever he comes on. Emillia (spelling?) was an under rated actress. She did a great job as Dany all through the series.

She did save the last couple of seasons when the writers weren't doing her any favors.

The same could be said of most of the cast for that matter. They overcame the odds despite the piss poor writing.

If this Above Suspicion movie ever makes it out of production/distribution jail...from all the reports I've found about it, she kills it in that movie playing a low life hillbilly tramp.

I think I should have been more clear.

She still does an outstanding job even given the complete 3rd grader level of writing the last few seasons.

The most disappointment was Jon. When your script is reduced to "she's my queen..." every other line, your writers suck.

The pat that was promised. The true good boi of Westoros.

No..I got you. I was just making an observation that she really has become a better actress, and I agree.

So I've been thinking on the GoT finale, how many of you would have been okay with an ending where Dany essentially has the same conversation with Jon they had and it ends there.

Kind of a cliffhanger, we realize Jon's not going to take action against her...and she is obviously going to continue her conquest to "break the wheel"

Show Arya returning to Winterfell to inform Sansa of recent events, Tyrion to be executed for treason and Jon not taking any action. Sansa basically saying "she won't bend the knee" and then that's it.

But why?

I kind of like the idea of Tyrion being executed by Dany after Jon and him talk and then Jon having to chose between his duty to the realm and his duty to "his queen" and he picks the latter.

She names Jon hand even or something. Arya (and most of the Northern army) head back to Winterfell. Last scene is Arya and Sansa talking as Arya tells her what's happened after the battle of King's Landing and Sansa just kind of ending it with "the North won't bend the knee" or something.

Well the why for me is simply because the ending they chose with all loose ends being happily wrapped up, Tyrion still hand...Bran picked to be King, Sansa Queen of the north Arya off adventuring and Jon free of duty were honestly just lazy.

Lazier than leaving all these loose ends? IDK, not saying your ending is any worse, but I think most fans would have hated that more. I do agree it shouldn't have worked out so well for all the remaining popular characters. Jon or Tyrian should have died.

those are all really good, and i agree, the Tywin/Ayra scenes were very good.

i loved the red wedding. at the time, was one of the coolest episodes of TV i'd seen.....i mean talk about shock value and turning a story on its ear....really cool.

"what do we say to the god of death?" "not today". freaking awesome during the long night......

really liked Littlefinger's execution and that whole set up.....that moment he realized he was out of cards to play....the surprise.

i also liked teh Tywin/Cerci scenese. as much as you may have disliked Tywin, i loved the fact he was the only one that could basically say "shut up, bi**h, i'm running this s**t." lol.

Varys and littlefinger interactions were definitely good....as were Varys's and Ned's.

i know the ending is taking a beating.......but whatever, the story was awesome. and while i have issues with some of the ways it ended, at the end of the day, i'm glad they wrapped it up the way they did. if the end was going to fall a little flat, why would you then want to give viewers any inkling that things with characters (big things anyway) were left undone? that'd of been worse.

GoT is still a top 3 show in my book.

Tywin's actions at small council meetings were great. Those were some of my favorite scenes. Many of them were pulled directly from the book. So well written and acted. He ran the 7 kingdoms and everybody knew their place. Outside of Tyrion and Cersei needing some additional instruction when they were to be married to Loras and Sansa.

Tywin was just fun to watch. Could be ruthless, but also very practical.

Jon kills Danny
Grey Worm and Jon square off
Half the army recognizes Jon as the true heir.
The lords come to kings Landing.
They name Jon king.
Jon says F that. I’m out.
Ty makes his speech.
Bran is king.
Jon heads north.

At least that would explain all the letters that got sent out by
Much of the show was about the drama of Jon's conception, then we find out he's the rightful heir and nothing? - That would definitely tie it all up better. Varys really got a bad deal the last few seasons-- at least let's believe he actually succeeded with the letters before he got executed.

Jon Snow deserves the chance to find some semblance of peace more than anybody in this whole wretched story...he had suffered enough, killing him at this point is just piling on. Tyrion is going to be miserable the rest of his life.
