Helton hired at WKU per Price

Phillip Fulmer is not going to let Lane Kiffin set foot on our sacred campus unless it's as an opposing coach on game day and frankly, I don't blame him.
I want what's best for UT football. I think Kiffin's personality to too big to fit w/ CJP but if it wasn't I'd want him in a heartbeat as OC.

I would say there is now a decent chance that Maurer decommits. Maybe some others as well. Hope not. But changes like this can be damaging to a recruiting class.

Ladies and gentlemen.... Rush Probst!

Too much cranial coverage aka hair for this staff.

Gosh, with a 5 Win resume at UTK, I imagine if he could have reached 6 Wins, he probably could have gotten the HC nod at Eastern KY College. So close yet......

Pruitt is going to want a run first, ball control, physical offense and will hire a coordinator who will run that. That eliminates all these big names people are throwing around like Freeze, Coach Bro, Kendal Briles, etc.

Odds are he promotes Friend or hires someone not really on anybody's radar who will run the offense he wants.

He was really tight with Helton, for sure.

I hate to say this, however I seen limited ability in him. I did see some good play calls opening up airways on first down. That has been missing for far, far to long. I see him as not having requisite knowledge on being adaptable enough quickly enough. It was an improvement over several of the last OC's. But when you don't have a full grasp of that intuitive nature of when to quit doing what's not working and when to get past it. I hate to say this above anything else but when Jimmy Hyams is shouting over the radio and he has a better understanding about what's going on with the offense than the OC, then it's time to move on. And he did it all season. Damn, I just threw up.

This thread is gold. I remember many wanted Debord gone. That wish was granted and look what happened.

Another coaching change. Just great. How many OC's have we had since 2008? Like 7? It's comical. I have the feeling people are going to be extremely disappointed with the new OC. Especially when we struggle almost just as bad next year as we did this year. Then we will see the same idiotic threads saying how bad the play calling is.

Should they have tied Helton up and kept him in a closet until WKU stopped calling his cell and found another coach?

I saw McClendon's name at South Carolina mentioned in the OP, but I haven't seen any comments about him. What are your thoughts on him?

This plays out 1 of 2 ways:

Friend to OC and Fulmer to OL or Cutcliffe comes back as OC with Sanders as QB coach.

Wishing Helton well. I think he did as good as he could here with what was here to work with.
