He was supposedly hired at WKU well before the Vandy game.

Couldn't have been hired before Vandy cause the WKU didn't get canned until Sunday. Now, they could've been throwing around numbers etc with talks between his agent and the WKU AD.

Cool. Honestly my opinion on the matter is based mostly on emotion and just not liking the idea of him hiring a friend for this position. But I'm usually wrong with chit like this, so we all better hope that's exactly who he hires.

Friend to OC and Fulmer to OL or Cutcliffe comes back as OC with Sanders as QB coach.

Sanders just had a good season at ETSU hes not leaving that for OC at tennessee again

Pruitt isn’t hiring someone like Kingsbury. Kiffin will never be at UT in any capacity, ever again. Freeze will go to Auburn before UT. So if Gus makes a move, you can scratch that one off as well.

Whoever it is must pass the following tests:

1. He has never offended Fulmer, challenged Fulmer, or done anything Fulmer is in any way 'hurt' by. (Scratch Kiffin)

2. He is completely scandal free, and would receive the SBC endorsement if there was one. (Scratch Freeze and Petrino)

3. Has a pliant personality, and will in NO WAY challenge Pruitt or (more importantly) Fulmer. (Scratch every candidate who has been a HC in the past, and most who have actually been an OC)

4. Will work for peanuts. (Scratch most every other candidate)

5. Is a 'good guy' and a 'good fit'.

Stand by for a Will Friend promotion, or at MOST, Kitchens. Kitchens trips a few of the above issues, but is a Haslam guy, and I suspect the House of Haslam is planning a comeback.

Im a WKU alum and couldnt be more excited. Helton is a great choice for HC at WKU. Now hopefully UT can bring in a slam dunk like Freeze!!

For those cheering this move, and for VOL fans in general, I hope the next OC meets expectations. I would really like to see our VOLS become relevant again. Constant change and constant calls by a battered fan base will never let that happen.
