Here Comes the Recession

My 401K has suffered as well. And, yeah, I get it. I'm coming off as a being conceited, because I'm calling out posters who called me out previously when I made the predictions I did. All good. I'll just stop posting here.

Best of luck all.
20 VN bucks says no damn way he can stop gloating on the market decline and won’t shut up until the rebound is in full swing.

Note the edit that Einstein did to remove the actual evidence of his financial prognostication capability. See my post two above here for the original quote 😂

In the case of Boeing the current management could not possibly be worse than government mouth breathers. Look at what's happened to them over the last few years. Boeing is full of butt plugged, smooth handed girly men trying to run a business that needs manly men in charge of it.
Boeing gave up making good airliners when we had the first round of bankruptcies. LUV was the apparent "winner" so BA went all in with the 737. They destroyed the tools for their best airplane, the 757. So here we are.

I remember that but don’t know the backstory. What the hell prompted them to destroy the mfg tools and jigs for one of the most popular aircraft they had with their customers?!

Fedex was offered new 757’s at cost just so Boeing could keep the assembly line open, so the rumor goes.

One week though.
In one week elementary and high schools around the country shut down, colleges shut down, college sports shut down, professional sports shut down, restaurants and bars are being shut down nationwide by local govt mandates, the travel and entertainment industries have been decimated, gatherings of 50 or more people have been shut down, casinos have shut down, international travel to Europe has shut down.

Anything I'm forgetting? When else in any of our lives have all of these things been affected at the same time for so long.

And now the state of California is going into hibernation. Think that might effect next weeks jobless claims?

California's governor has ordered all 40 million residents to stay home. That's a big deal

California's governor has ordered all 40 million residents to stay home to stop the spread of coronavirus.

Though San Francisco and Los Angeles enacted similar measures, it's still a very big deal.

California is the most populous state in the US. It's also an economic powerhouse, home to the capital of the entertainment industry (Los Angeles) and the world's most important technology hub (Silicon Valley and the San Francisco Bay Area). The Central California Valley is one of the United States' most important bread baskets.

When does the order go into place? The order will go into effect today and will remain in place until further notice.

What's closed? Dine-in restaurants, bars, nightclubs and gyms will be shuttered. Public events are also banned

It just takes a bit to get used to. For the several days after things started closing I debated whether this could be worse than 2008, which was quite bad. Could we really have 1 million job losses in a month?

Well, here we are.
