Here is the cold hard truth

I don't. I don't think there is enough talent on this team to make the tourney. Teams with good guard play and average post play can make the tourney. We have pretty good post play and average guard play. You don't make the NCAA tourney being average at guard that much. There isn't enough consistency and our point guard is hurt and has been inconsistent.

I agree, you look at our talent and it's probably 5th or 6th in the SEC and that's not NCAA good.

I think with Maymon we could get in because we use him as a point-forward. People that don't follow this team much have no idea how much the offense ran through him. He helped Golden bring the ball up, get the offense set up and could get the ball in the middle of the zone and either pass or drive the ball. We don't have that piece to the puzzle right now.

Is our offensive struggles because Maymon has been out or are coaches catching up to what we're doing after having an off season to study more film? I think it's a combo of the two.

I thought he had a lot of potential coming in, but I now have serious doubts about Martin's ability to get the job done. He's not getting anywhere near the best out of his players. I'm beginning to think that Cuonzo may be Swahili for Incompetent.

Maymon is also clearly the leader of this team, losing your best player AND leader hurts.

Yep, I'm not giving up on this season, but next year defitinely looks more promising. I thought we could at least contend for a NCAA spot, and we still can, but I just don't see it in the end. I saw enough in Dec to form my opinion. Couple that with the fact that the SEC is down and you can't afford to lose a home game to a team like Ole Miss. They'll be one of the top 4 teams in the SEC. Now UT has to knock off Mizzou, Fla or Ky. I don't see that happening. Fla just may score 100 on UT this year. UT might only score 50.

He can't do that if all he does is set the whole time! Bruce Pearl would have been all over those refs by halftime over the Mickey Mouse fouls being called one sided!

This is the first time I have been upset watching CCM reaction on the bench it looked like he didn't care where we won or not either.

I'm getting tired of watching Martin sit there and not yell at officials either. Him & the Players looked like they couldn't have cared less last night. That game was painful to watch. I don't care what the SEC office claims or what anyone says, if you get in those refs face they are going to give you more calls than they will if you passively sit there & say nothing. Apparently Martin isn't as good a motivator as he thinks...

Martin has always been a very passive in-game coach. His first 10 games last season I don't think he stood up.

I've been ridiculed plenty for pointing this out. Some folks, you just cain't reach.

Has something to do with his players not doing what he wants.
Didn't play defense early last season and he was sitting with arms folded talking to assistants.
Last night weren't playing defense so he was sitting with arms folded talking to assistants.
It appears to be his way or you lose doing it your way. JMO

It does seem that way sometimes, but then three games ago he was upset with Trae and Jarnell and sat them on the bench most of the game to watch. So sometimes he lets them play crappy and sometimes he sits them down to watch.

I still like the guy. Just think he's a lost puppy at this point.
Most think it'll be make make or break next season.
I think his time is now.
Can he throw away the Keady handbook and figure it out.
If he can't the same problems will stifle his offense next season.

Whatever, bruh. It was probably before you joined the board in a posting frenzy.

My join date has nothing to do with that being incorrect. I'm not trying to argue, I'm flat out telling you that's wrong.

In Maui he was up off the bench screaming, you want the pics to prove it?

You always pick out the exception and try to pass it off as support rather than what it is - an exception. This is another one. You may have a picture of Martin standing up, but he spent most his time as a casual observer.

And I'm not arguing this again either. I was pointing out that I was ridiculed for pointing out Martin sat on the bench with arms folded last season too. Same story, different year.

He talks the talk, but does he walk the walk.
Could you imagine Hall playing like he did last night for a Bobby Knight. (not that he ever would have)
Knight would have chewed his nose off in a special time out.

The problem is talking in absolutes. Really a pretty petty argument on either side. I can't remember that far back, but I seem to think that he was animated in Maui.

But, I can certainly recall his demeanor against Florida and at home against Vandy last year- very emotional. I am not sure what all of this means anyway.

Against Vandy last year

That's fine, but you talk in absolutes. If you said he hardly ever stood up the first 10 games, well then ok, no argument here.

Well, throwing in the "I don't think" part of the post was meant to convey a level of hyperbole.

But tomato - tomahto

I'm absolute and you see the exception as the rule.

We both like Upton.
