From what I understand the current situation is that much of the area has basically become a vehicle free pedestrian zone. Sort of a block party currently, music, vendors, some free food, drinks etc. One spot has set up a medical clinic to help people.
Additionally, it sounds like government authorities and some of the people from the CHAZ area are working on solutions for the community.
They did.Contrast it with the Bundys then. Or even Waco. It is an armed occupation. Period. Public and private property seized.
So tired of liberal hypocrisy. Those cops should be stacking bodies as soon as those brandishing firearms refuse to lay them down and surrender.
Its absolute bllsheot...you know it and so do we. Try that BS down south. "Liberal" cities with Dem mayors like Charlotte ATL etc....stacking bodies. From the jump.
Washington, Oregon, California, Detroit, Chicago, Minneapolis. NYC.....
What do they all have in common????
They are a freaking EMBARRASSMENT to this country and its citizens.
Strike a match.
Well that’s just a guess that probably reflects your bias in this situation. If I had a very close friend like that tell me something I would believe every word too. But my guess is that anyone that was just there to riot is probably having a lot less fun without the police presence.I'm guessing they were interested in running the police out of there rather than specifically capturing a building.
All I've been saying from the beginning is that the right wing media is intentionally blowing it WAY OUT OF PROPORTION, and many of you willingly jump in head first.
As usual.
The Seattle Police Department walked back its claim, widely repeated in the news media, that denizens of the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone are extorting businesses.
"That has not happened affirmatively," Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best in a news conference Thursday afternoon, adding that the police department had based earlier claims on anecdotal reports, including in the news and on social media. "We haven't had any formal reports of this occurring."
That contradicts earlier statements from the police.
The claim seems to have originated on conservative blog The Post Millennial, in an article written by former Seattle City Council candidate Ari Hoffman. The article quoted unnamed police officers who alleged protesters were extorting businesses for protection money.
Hoffman did not respond to questions about his sourcing. The claim was later repeated by a commenter under the name "Marcus S." on the Capitol Hill Seattle blog, and in a tweet by Andy Ngo, editor-at-large of The Post Millennial.
Apart from those sources, Christina Arrington, who heads the Capitol Hill branch of the Greater Seattle Business Association, said she has had "no other indications that this is taking place." The GSBA "found no evidence of this occurring," the group tweeted, based on conversations with area business.
I think we will see the answer as the situation plays out. What is Way Out Of Proportion? Is it thinking you shouldn't negotiate with terrorists claiming parts of the city? Is it allowing looters and reprobates to just destroy property? Again what does Way Out Of Proportion mean? After thinking about it I hope the POTUS don't get involved and just let these hoodlums terrorize Seattle if the mayor amd governor doesn't want to do anything about it. The remaining residents will eventually takes matters in their own hands.
That was an interesting link " ya f*** it just bring it, we'll figure it out"It's great. I think at least half of the posts are in jest, but it's difficult to tell which ones. Poe's Law in action...
