The reality is that, since money was paid, even if it wasn't a legitimate complaint, or even if exaggerated, folks are going to be thinking smoke/fire.

Does not help that this breaks after that add with the grin.

Just vehemently denied that he has ever sexually harassed anyone.

This is going to be one of those thngs we'll never get the whole story on unless the accusers start talking which would probably violate the terms of the settlement.

Exactly right. The terms probably forbid anyone involved from talking.

I have a question. If the accusers did talk, what would you expect them to say?

"No, Herm didn't harrass us, we just took him for a ton of dough."

This is a highly unlikely outcome, if they did speak.

Pretty sure we all get that. I just meant we'll never know if he made a pass at someone, used off color language, told bad jokes or if the women were just hypersensitive and looking for a payday.

The only persons who will not talk will be the two women and the individuals on the Board. I guarantee that a journalist will find individuals who observed certain behavior, though, who are not legally prohibited from speaking on the matter.

If Cain knows what is good for him, he will get everything out in the open and get in front of this story; if not, he will have to react to whatever comes out.

In reality all this does is eliminate him from a VP pool. For all the polls I don't think he has/had a legitimate shot at the nomination anyway.

I read the www.politico.com article. Two 5 figure settlements with 2 different women to settle out of court. Looks like they did their homework on this story. He's probably done.

If he's been accused of sexual harassment by 2 different women at 2 different times, and these stories are true, what are the odds he was faithful to his wife of 43 years?

so if it was a $10k settlement would you still see it as a big deal? How much do you think it costs to fight one of those cases?

there is no standard. if you are a woman and feel that you have been harassed, then it is so.
