Heupel is Figured Out

A piddling Gamecock team figured out the recipe to beat Tennessee. They hung their corners 10 yards back and never let the Vol receivers get behind them. The fact about this offense is it's not designed to put up long, sustained drives. Gamecocks gave up the short ball all day and Heupel's offense just isn't built to take advantage of that. SC had nothing to lose taking a risk like that on D and it paid off in a big way. You beat this offense by hanging your corners back.

Make no mistake, this game is on the defense, but don't let that distract you from what happened on offense. That Gamecock defense was one of the worst in the SEC with multiple injuries. Any other SEC team is going to watch how they handled the Vol offense and just execute that formula better. Heupel needs to address that in his scheme or teams will have him figured out real soon.

Last night was epically bad defense, worse than a Sal Sunseri defense...
All I saw was our cornerbacks running behind receivers all night. No real pressure, if you go man to man you have to have pressure and cover your man. Sal Sunseri vol2.

UGA showed how to beat us or at least make us think and reroute more.

Any team that can score 38 points should win, period...Reminds me of those Oregon teams with Mariota. they could practically score at will, but the defense leaked like a sieve.

Sure thing bro.

The fix was in!! The defensive players allowed scoring to beat the line!! Please do not be so naive!!! Find out which players were responsible for the fix including Banks!!! Hey Heupel, watch who you trust!!!
LOL Conspiracy Theory. Yea basically blame it on J Banks.

Hooker missed a wide open WR in the back of the end zone one time when we were getting close and we kicked the FG.
But that was all on whoever was calling the Def. We should have blitzed Rattler all night. He could send out pizza with all the time he had. Converted 2 3rd and 20s to the same spot.
DBs were playing soft (way to deep). DBs can cover only so long before someone get some get open. I noticed a couple of times one of our DBs was so deep
it looked like he was defending against a Hail Mary! JH needs to look at Banks and tell him do better or your are gone.

They literally put up 38 points and over 500 yards of offense, doesn’t exactly sound like he’s been figured out, just the garbage D we’ve ran for the last 2 seasons

Offense is fine. Defense is not. You are wrong. End thread.

I mean it's the best offense in college football. Of course things were going to be there. But that was a bad SC defense and that scheme alone showed a weakness in this Vol offense that nobody has exploited before. Elite SEC programs are only going to take that formula and run with it.

I'll take 38 per game and work on my defense any day and more often than not it will be enough

😂god we have some moronic fans

We scored plenty enough points to win on the road. This was on the defense and that ain’t on Heup. (Unless he refuses to fix it, then it IS on him)
It’s on Huep. He is the HC. He could of told Banks to use different schemes for down and difference

We scored 31. If get more stops on defense we score more. I think scoring 50 or 60 points a game is unrealistic expectations.
