I think he’s a more capable runner than people realize. And I agree that if he has to play, running him should be a significant part of the plan. I know that’s dangerous though because if he gets hurt….If Gaston does end up playing, I hope they are willing to let him run, at least in the second half. Seems like that the intermediate passing game isn't his strength, and he’s athletic enough to pick up 10-15 yards if he has space. Can’t just hand off and sling it 50 yards all game.
Thoughts on Thornton, Bishop or West being able to go?He was at practice suited up. I’ve been explicitly asked not to comment on player injuries or private health matters until it gets into the public sphere. My own personal opinion is that he’s going to play, but it is an ongoing day to day situation.
Not sure there is enough tape on Moore to study to get any of his tendencies. Probably don't have to worry about him running as much. The play calling is different when Moore is in though.Defensive staffs study tendencies of qb's, and the offensive strategy/formations could change with a diff QB which chages the way the Defense plans. Could also affect the personnel.
Kids these days are soft. Just look at the playground equipment in 50s and 60s, and what's there now. And the amount of time spent outdoors running, bicycling, and climbing trees so high up it would make a towering spruce tree topper dizzy.I remember when a concussion was just called “getting your bell rung” and the athlete would usually keep playing. It’s better now out of precaution but it sure causes a lot of drama.
I agree for the most part but the advanced focus on concussions and head trauma is without a doubt a positive.Kids these days are soft. I am not saying that Gaston is the better option, but loading the box is not the best move. Gaston was more than capable on short and mid range passes, and with our 12 man package he would have time even on bring the house type blitzes.Kirby already knows there's no way we want to start anyone except Nico against GA.
Whether Nico starts, and he likely will even if his shoulder is held together with baling wire and duct tape and he's wearing 3 stacked guardian helmets, or Gaston Moore starts, Kirby is going to stack the box and go after the QB aggressively.
If he can rattle either of our QBs early, he gets momentum and goes for the throat at home.
So you want the 2nd string QB to run, when the starter is hurt?If Gaston does end up playing, I hope they are willing to let him run, at least in the second half.
