I mean I’m betting he’s questionable regardless on the report. Even if he can’t go you force them to prepare for Nico bc he gives you so much more than Gaston. If Moore has to be the guy I bet he plays his ass off, his last year; this would be the biggest game of his career. Guys like that leave it all on the field. Hopefully he can have a Rick Clausen vs LSU type performanceYes, said Nico was with the team today, but didn’t specify that he took snaps.
People likely to lose their minds when Wednesday’s report released (verbiage could remain vague , and is Heuple’s mo).
This could easily go until pregame.
Good post. That's not the same as saying “he is going to play.” (#29)
He "should be." "I anticipate." That is not the same thing as saying he will play. You of all people should know that, counselor. And it was "precautionary." He was literally taking precautions.
I hear what you're saying about "wiggle room" and agree about that. I like and respect Heupel for being "pretty evasive" about injuries and especially when "he won't answer questions about [injuries]" (although I don't recall the latter but trust you that he's done it.) To me, it means that Heupel is putting his team above trying to endear himself to the pool reporters and even to our fan base.
I'm not trying to be antagonistic. In fact, I like you as a poster. We just somehow disagree a lot. I just think we have to sit still and wait. Starting Wednesday he will release status updates. I'm betting on "questionable" moving to "game day decision" at some point. And, in truth, if he is cleared to play, it will be after a medical examine on game day (even if he's cleared one before) and a final decision after that. That's in the best of Nico's health. I don't think it's even possible to know with certainty today.
He faced the most hostile environment a Tennessee team has faced in the modern era at LSU in 05 when there were less than 500 TN fans there on a Monday night post Katrina. (And won) He also was an Offensive MVP in the Cotton Bowl.Rick Clausen never faced a pissed off, Kirby Smart coached team that is playing for their life on the road.
Sounds relatively promising. Thanks SF.Now that ESPN is reporting concussion symptoms, I’ll add that I heard he was nauseous during halftime of the MSU game and had upper back and neck pain from the hard landing. They sat him out of caution, and he went in for further examination on Sunday. He was in all the meetings today and dressed for routes on air. Tomorrow is the first day in (closed) practice. I have not heard any results from Sunday (and won’t) but he’s definitely showing up for meetings like he’s going to play. That said, if he had concussion symptoms on Sunday, the recovery protocol will keep him out of the game.
Being polite, Gaston Moore was a zero star recruit in 2020.How do you know he can’t run?
I agree, Gaston is a tough dude, and I appreciate him for all the knowledge he brings, I’m sure he’s helped Nico a ton with knowing the offense. I really doubt, I almost guarantee we don’t win without Nico tho.Being polite, Gaston Moore was a zero star recruit in 2020.
If Josh Heupel doesn't take the UT job, Gaston Moore never wears an SEC uniform. I'm sure he's a gamer and I'm sure he knows the offense backwards and forwards. I'm also reasonably sure that like me, he's not blessed with elite athletic skills like most starting SEC QBs.
Dickey replaced TRob in the Alabama game that year (win), then tied GT the next week, followed by I think 5 reg season wins before that bowl game was ever played. This is it guys/gals. It's down to who wins this game. We've waited a long time for The Big Orange to get back to prominence. Here we are!! We take care of Ga and it's on!! Ga gonna play like backed up dogs tho. I hope Nico is truly good to go, but if not, I remember Darryl Dickey replacing T Rob in the 1985 Sugar Bowl. How'd that go? This could be a monumental game for our back up qb,, if needed.. GBO!!!!

He was at practice suited up. I’ve been explicitly asked not to comment on player injuries or private health matters until it gets into the public sphere. My own personal opinion is that he’s going to play, but it is an ongoing day to day situation.
True. My point was if he received a scan that showed a TBI on Sunday, he’s out next weekend.
Here is the NCAA recommended concussion protocol. It is not required, it is just their recommendation. Most likely worded that way to avoid any liability. I would suspect that the Tennessee athletic department follows something similar. See page 9 for the "Return to Play" element. If Nico is progressing without symptoms then he should be able to play. Looks like the final determinant is can you go to class and learn (pay attention and retain the information). A little different than when we played back in the 60's and you guessed how many fingers the trainer was holding up and if you guessed right you were good to go! lol

Georgia corners have been getting beat a lot lately. I don’t know if I would call them much better. I would rather have our secondary personally. GBOHe under threw his deep balls. Thankfully the MSU defenders never got their heads around to see where the ball was or those would likely have been picked off. UGA’s corners are much better and will know he throws those short so they will be looking for them.
I understand that. All I am saying is facing this current iteration of UGA is a much harder challenge than Clausen ever faced. He faced the most hostile environment a Tennessee team has faced in the modern era at LSU in 05 when there were less than 500 TN fans there on a Monday night post Katrina.
