Bumping these threads are kinda dumb if it’s just to dig at people that were underwhelmed by the hire. At the time it was a very underwhelming hire to a lot and I understand why. After what the program had been through people wanted a big splash hire to give them hope. I don’t see what’s wrong with that. I assume most of those people over time became more rational about it over time and now are obviously ecstatic that he’s way surpassed their expectations. There. Thread over lmao

Exactly. I don’t recall ever outright bashing Heupel, but I wasn’t super excited. In fact, right around the thrashing of Missouri in 2021 is when I really started getting pumped. After multiple failed coaching hires it was pretty easy not to believe initially.

Considering a whole load of us (myself included) have said in several other threads how we hated the hire but are glad we were wrong, you're spot on. Now you've got people "living the dream" of digging this stuff up.

Like I said yesterday, a big ol' meth shipment must've hit the trailer park.
