given what you've proven that you don't know, you'd be just as well served to talk about knitting for the remainder of the thread.
and you said he has underachieved thus far.You guys are so ignorant it's not even funny. I started this thread by saying that i think he will be a bust and that i think he's overrated, and all of you guys started attacking me for having an opinion.
I'm not going out of my way to prove what I know of baseball, but you have certainly made a lot of statements that hint at your knowing nothing about the game. You guys are so ignorant it's not even funny. You guys haven't proved anything except for that ya'll are huge homers and really no nothing about baseball.

Many others pointed out why this absurdity was simply too premature or just plain wrong.
Most "star" prospects underachieve at this point in their careers. Hochevar has performed about as expected for a guy with his talent. You're making him out to be the next Van Poppel. He's not.
He throws hard, locates it relatively well and has some wicked 'stuff.' He might not turn into the next Pedro, but it won't be because of lack of talent.

JSantana's achilles heel is the long ball, but I'm going to go ahead and keep him in the great category, if that's OK. In fact, you might be surprised by those giving up lots of long balls. Many were all time greats or are some of the better pitchers in the game today.I said Hochevar would be a number 2 or 3 guy in the rotation, nothing more nothing less. He does have good stuff be his accuracy is inconsistent and he gives up a ton of HRs, therefore i could see him being good but not great.
Hochevar definitely has #1 type pitches. He might not ever reach his potential, but, again, it won't be due to his talent level.I said Hochevar would be a number 2 or 3 guy in the rotation, nothing more nothing less.
