We can wear Pink Polka Dot jerseys to play vandy for all I care. BUT only if Our defense shows up to play, and we play lights out to win.

Here's a 1914 UT jersey, one of our first uni's, the others were even more dark. Also notice how the sleeves are very similar in both unis

So our smokeys aren't tradition?

SMOKEY GRAYS 4 DAYS, BOYS!

But I'll take the smokey gray jerseys 1-2 games/season

I don't like how they have shrunk the checkerboard end zone pattern down. There is to much green showing.

Sigh...I like the grey uni. Some of you don't like it. Both opinions are fine. Save these debates for the off season.

Volunteers sounds outdated, we need something that gives us more of an edge. Also that dog is so been there, done that. What would give us more flash?

Tennessee football has a tradition of many uniforms, so idk what the traditionalists are talking about

Yea I think its funny how a teams "tradition" is directly related to the time a fan started cheering for the team.

i.e. "Well I've been a fan since 1896 when they didn't wear helmets and I cant believe my Vols are breaking tradition this year and wearing helmets. I thought it was supposed to be a one game thing"

Well if you want to speak of tradition, one of our first uni's ever was grey. That is pretty traditional if you ask me

I love the tradition of the Vols and it makes us who we are. Other wise we would be just any other school.

College football is all about pageantry and tradition (and winning of course).

The NFL isn't.

The Pride, The Vol walk, the Vol Navy, The Power T, The Salute to The Hill, The Orange Jerseys (AKA the most beautiful thing in the world) make Tennessee what it is.

We are where we are because of our past.
I'm looking forward to our RiseBACK to the Top but I don't want us to forget our identity on the way there.

P.S. I'm pro-gay.

Do what?

Tennessee Traditions still in tact that aren't going anywhere...

Pride of the Southland marching band - check
Vol Navy - check
Rocky Top after every big play/touchdown/score - check
Neyland Maxims - check
Checkerboard endzones - check
Run through the T - check
Smokey leading us through the T - check
Cheerleaders doing pushups - check
Vol Walk - check

Traditions that have been completely tarnished by having an alternate gray jersey worn 2 times in 12 games...

....?

Winning! 0-1...0.00%

J/K. If the kids like them, what difference does it make? Earlier this year the team had pink stuff on...AND WON!

You forgot the band playing "Down the Field." Have to score touchdowns to save that tradition.

We are the "Volunteer State" and the University of Tennessee Volunteers because of a 200-year-old tradition of answering the call to arms for our country. This designation was first earned during the War of 1812 when, at the request of "President James Madison, Gen. Andrew Jackson, who later became President himself, mustered 1,500 from his home state to fight at the Battle of New Orleans. The name became even more prominent in the Mexican War when Gov. Aaron V. Brown issued a call for 2,800 men to battle Santa Ana and some 30,000 Tennesseans volunteered. Tennessee's color guard still wears dragoon uniforms of that era at all athletic events" (UTSPORTS.COM - University of Tennessee Athletics - Fans).

If you don't believe that such devotion, dedication and sacrifice by Tennesseans who have gone before us is worthy of honor and commemoration by designating our state and our state university's athletic teams "Volunteers," I truly pity you.
