No. I do not think there is something "wrong" with murderers or rapists, either. I think there is something wrong with murder and rape, though.

I am not sure that I would agree that pedophilia is a mental illness. Pedophiles who cannot control their urges and thus rape children certainly might be mentally ill; however, to make that claim that pedophilia in itself is a mental illness it to assert that large percentages of prior civilizations could be described as mentally ill. I do not buy it.

Here is my take on flamers in the military....the vast majority of soldiers are hetero...and find marinating and catching to be incredibly disgusting and azz kicking type of offense.... It's not a good idea to mix their company

I guess everyone has their own take on the subject, but ask yourself this.... If you were on a ship and there were six bunks in your quarters and the other five guys were gay would you be comfortable with that? Chances are there wouldn't be any issues directly involving you, but what about things between them? You open up a huge can of worms.... Unexpected affairs between soldiers....jealousy and etc.its not just about the gay guys trying to hit on the straight ones.... To me it's more of an issue with regard to upsetting the inner workings of the "team" so to speak....under the circumstances I laid out you know there would be some sexual activity going on at some point..... Guys are just a bunch of horny animals

First, I wholly reject your notion of sexuality. Sexual aggressiveness is not a trait which can be attributed to any particular gender or orientation, that is not my opinion, that is a fact.

Second, I imagine any group will have a political dynamic to some extent, and sex would play no additional role in that. I got stamped 4F at MEPS years ago so I can't speak specifically to the military, but for what it's worth I have managed teams of about a dozen or so at work, and friendship had every bit as much potential to be a group obstacle as sexual relationships.

You do realize that I said "guys" and not "gays" are horny animals....right? The point I was trying to make is that it's more likely that those of the same sexual preference will eventually become involved in some form of sexual activity.....being isolated and out at sea for an extended period of time would create an environment conducive of such behavior....with you being straight would it not be an aggravating situation for you if you knew a couple of your bunk mates were boinking each other? It would have to be especially if you ever caught sight of it.

I'm not sure where you got your facts on sexual aggressiveness, but you and I both know that as a general rule guys have a stronger sexual drive than women. I wasn't claiming that gays are crazed azz rapists or anything of the sort....

By the way .....what got you the 4F? Nothing serious I hope...
