House of the Dragon

There is no character development. Every episode is another X amount of years in the future. With that said it's still better than a lot of TV, but people are smoking crack if they think it holds a candle to OG GoT.
I like it better, but the Targaryens are my favorite house so I might be a bit biased.

Finale was pretty legit I must admit. Now that they are slowing the timeline down, I expect it to get much better.

Black wins imo.
I’m just not sure how they get there.
If the show follows the book….
the greens win the military war in that Alicent’s son is still king when the war ends but he dies soon thereafter and every king from then to Robert Baratheon is a child or grandchild of Rhaenyra

To clarify. the Blacks win in the end. Officially, the history books say that the Greens won the Dance of the Dragons because Aegon II became the uncontested king of the Seven Kingdoms after killing Rhaenyra and striking her rule off the record books. But Aegon II died shortly after and was succeeded by Aegon III, who is the son of Rhaenyra and Daemon.

wasn't the Maester at the Wall in GoT named Aemond - I know he was a Targaryen and in line for the throne. Wonder how many generations he was away from the current crowd.

Hopefully not, I think I read it's already shooting. Only issue I've heard was from a couple of the YouTube background people I watch. They say the rumor is early 2024, but I hope that's wrong and they try to keep it yearly and around the same time like they did most of GoT. Maybe Sep 2023 ish I hope. If I'm not mistaken except the last 2 seasons GoT did April every year

Tweeter said it was spring 2024. Supposedly

His name was Aemon.

The targs weren't very creative with their names apparently

Who watched tonight?

For those of you that heard rumors about the infamous "blood and cheese" portion of the story, that was it tonight. Apparently it was very toned down.

I thought it was an excellent first episode. Last 10 minutes was pretty intense. I'm leaning team Green 😆

I think that's by design. Suddenly "King" Aegon is much more likable, and the rest of the Greens are realizing Otto is the real douche canoe, and they are getting sick of his crap.

Meanwhile Daemon is now responsible for one of the most vile acts of the series. They definitely want us torn.

Have the past two episodes changed your views?

Anyone else watching?

I'm a bit torn that I don't really have anyone I'm rooting for, at this point. Well, maybe the Dragons.

I think I find myself rooting for certain individuals on each side rather than a certain team. I think Otto is going to flip sides. I’m torn too because this show does good at making everyone look bad.

Quick question..

what’s up with the scene with the dude claiming to be half brother of daemon and viserys

I don't have a clue regarding your spoiler. GoT was so much easier to follow. I get all the kids names mixed up in House of Dragon. Half of the time I don't know who they are talking about. The 10 minute episode breakdown that's on HBO demand is a big help for me 😆
