you're using it as a pejorative and you know it. It makes your comments much less believable (which is difficult)I also believe if someone smokes cigarettes or inhales paint thinner or drinks bleach or similar stuff are ALSO idiots. I would absolutely call that out as stupid low IQ behavior as well.
And people who use marijuana recreationally daily ARE potheads, what else would you call them?
Dictionary says pothead is “someone who habitually smokes marijuana”
Just like you act as if everyone who smokes pot is an unsuccessful basement dweller. There are plenty who would describe themselves as a social drinker who actually need it. More than weed imoMake people revert to weed? For the vast majority of social drinkers I highly doubt they would have to “detox” or die from detoxing/withdrawal. You guys act like everyone that’s ever had a beer would drink after shave if they went a day without a drink.
There are metabolites that will show up on blood tests that indicate whether the body has recently consumed marijuana. A coroner will test for them when drug intoxication is at issue, they’re generally not performed by a hospital for treatment.Correct. If I smoked in the last 7 days.
How can you tell if I’m under the influence of cannabis right now?
But not all drinkers are alcoholics. By definition all habitual pot smokers are potheads. You can look it up yourself and sorry you don’t like the term but that’s exactly what it isyou're using it as a pejorative and you know it. It makes your comments much less believable (which is difficult)
Can now call all recreational drinkers alcoholics?
You are incorrect. Full drug screens are ran all the time on patients for treatment purposes for a variety of reasons. There are metabolites that will show up on blood tests that indicate whether the body has recently consumed marijuana. They also go away very quickly, they have a half life of about 30 minutes, and can’t be reliably used to estimate a degree of impairment.
The definition of an alcoholic is a person suffering from alcoholism. And I would call someone who fit that description an alcoholic. That’s factual not an insult. Didn’t realize that you were one who gets defensive and in the feels about textbook definitions. Potheads are habitual users of marijuana. That is a factual statementA habitual drinker would be just the same. You're telling on slang to make your insult stick
You're using slang to define it. That's laughable from such a medical professional as yourself. Someone smoking it daily is no more or less dependent on it than a daily drinker. It's admirable you keep trying to defend a stance that is so hypocritical. It's not working but it's admirableThe definition of an alcoholic is a person suffering from alcoholism. continued excessive or compulsive use of alcoholic drinks
Where did I defend being an alcoholic? I have yet to see what hypocritical stance you keep saying that I’ve taken. I’ve consistently pointed out the negative effects that marijuana has just like kiddiedoc did on the body and on society. You're using slang to define it. I was hoping you would pop in here. There are metabolites that will show up on blood tests that indicate whether the body has recently consumed marijuana. A coroner will test for them when drug intoxication is at issue, they’re generally not performed by a hospital for treatment.

Your hypocritical stance is backing/supporting the ban on mj because of the "dangers" it presents while not acknowledging that the same people banning it support much worse substances being sold and consumed absolutely everywhereWhere did I defend being an alcoholic? And people across first responders and the medical profession are well aware of the issues with being a pothead. That’s again factual and not hypocritical at all. I also don’t support being an alcoholic or a chain smoker or a heroin user and i think people that do those things are idiots and weak
Did I “back it and support it” or did I say I don’t care if people smoked weed at home and then gave factual reasons to why the laws existed and how if it were legal it wouldn’t change anything in terms of crime?Your hypocritical stance is backing/supporting the ban on mj because of the "dangers" it presents while not acknowledging that the same people banning it support much worse substances being sold and consumed absolutely everywhere
The definition I supplied also shows that your example when using booze is an alcoholic.
I didn’t say that hospitals don’t do drug screens. They test for THC-COOH, which is one of about 80 metabolites of THC. It’s also very fat soluble and the levels in the blood vary depending on a number of factors, making it basically guesswork to determine whether there has been recent consumption. You are incorrect. Full drug screens are ran all the time on patients for treatment purposes for a variety of reasons.
Labcorp does it routinely.I didn’t say that hospitals don’t do drug screens. They test for THC-COOH, which is one of about 80 metabolites of THC. It’s also very fat soluble and the levels in the blood vary depending on a number of factors, making it basically guesswork to determine whether there has been recent consumption.
There are other metabolites that are less fat soluble, but I’ve never seen a hospital test for those, only coroners, once, and it was outsourced to an out-of-state lab.
