How about this treatment of Palin?

Have you read the NYT piece on Ayers?

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/04/us/politics/04ayers.html?_r=1&hp&oref=slogin

Conclusion: Obama and Ayers are not close.

You do realize that other conservatives also sat on the board with this unapologetic terrorist, including Walter Annenberg. You realize that, right?

If you truly believe that Ayers will somehow tarnish your children through an Obama administration's education policy, then you might need an aluminum hat. It sounds more like your anger is directed at the US Legal System for not dealing with Ayers differently when he did some bad stuff.

They killed cops.......

:the_finger:

It sure sounds like you are defending Israel in the same sentence, let alone the entire remainder of the post.

I understand your hypothetical, but it doesn't equate here b/c there's an inherent imbalance of power. Israel has it, the Palestinians don't. That's what separates the two. And when you don't have as much power, you use whatever means necessary to get your point across, no matter how vile.

They're both at fault. And since Israel is our ally, and since they have the power to change, that's the only way it's going to get done IMO.

Look, both are at fault for the situation. I just think one is waging a more moral war. Both sides are guilty though, and Israel certainly hasn't done anything to quell the animosity towards them.

And it is not a balance of power issue, it is a religion issue. I consider myself a Reagan Democrat, and I don't think liberals are as bad as they are made out here sometimes. But, IMO, the liberals have this one completely wrong. It is not balance of power, social injustices, or percieved ethnic slights. The religious beliefs each hold are the primary factor. Lest you forget, there are also Palenstinian Christians. In fact, this is a perfect science experiment. Take the same people, living in the same area, speaking the same language, and living in equally horrendous conditions....now give them different religious beliefs and see how they react.

....and the worst part about it is the fact that this wouldn't even be happening if it weren't for the supernatural beliefs of the Jews in the first place. They don't deserve just any land, it has to be the land "God" promised them, no matter how many people it pisses off.

All sides, even the U.S. to a certain degree, is to blame for this. But make no mistake, the Israelis/U.S. side of this is conducting itself in the conflict in a better way.

Well, the NY Times concluded there's no relationship, so that's all that matters. Ludicrous.

You do realize there's stories that have proved this is a lie, right? Of course you don't.

I will deal with this later.

You are going to make me sick.... hurry and tell me how much you love Obama....

if it was discovered that John McCain had a personal and professional relationship with Tim McVeigh and Terry Nichols, your partners in the press wouldn't be so quick to dismiss it as unimportant and meaningless.

1. NY Times... thanks but no thanks.

2. Anyone on a board with him should be ashamed

3.I never said Ayers will have an affect on my kids, i said if meaning if we lived in the Chicago area.

4. I'm not angry about anything except for the fact someone voting for a socialist is telling me I need an aluminum hat.

5. What the hell? Did some bad stuff is robbing a gas station. Bombing THE PENTAGON is not "bad stuff" it is attacking the United States of America.

You will defend this man to no end. That is sad.

ok, the Chicago Annenberg Challenge distributed over 100 million dollars to improve education in the Chicago area. I don't have a specific link, but I don't think that anything it did worked. The murder spree this past summer should be some indication of the abject failure of Ayers radical views on education.

100 million for education in one city. Puke. These people disgust me. That is only 100 million more than they ever deserved.

Was this the "UN Model" school?

Was this the "UN Model" school?

among other things

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ibd/20081014/bs_ibd_ibd/20081014issues01

In 1998-99, just 36% of the Annenberg school students in grades three through eight were reading at or above national norms compared with 35% in Chicago schools citywide. In math, the results were similar. Some 43% of Annenberg students were at or above national norms versus 42% for non-Annenberg students.

High school graduation rates for both groups of students were the same at 40%. The Annenberg schools edged out Chicago schools in dropout rates -- 35% to 36%. As the report said, there were no signs of improvement that warranted the expenditure of $160 million.

The CAC did not improve the schools, and in some ways made things worse. The executive summary also notes: "Classroom behavior, students' sense of self-efficacy, and social competence were weaker in 2001 than before the Challenge."

The report stated: "In 2001, students in Annenberg schools were somewhat less inclined than in 1994 to respect each other, work well together and help each other learn."

1. so if a NYT piece supports your gut feelings about the man, you're for it. Otherwise, you're against it.

4. so really, it's not ayers' terrorist past that you're connecting to Obama but his Socialist tendencies? And you're upset that a socialist is going to become president - a socialist endorsed by warren buffet and robert rubin.

i guess i touched a nerve.
