How I Met Your Mother

I've just recently started watching this show. I like it a lot, but has anyone else noticed that Allison Hannigan is the worst actress on a popular TV show since Tracy Gold?

I like her. She has gotten prettier over the years on the show as well.

This show is starting to get a bit annoying. They are pulling a Friends with the back and forth of "who's in love with Robin this week" crap.

Well they've both been in love with Robin for awhile, so it shouldn't really come as a surprise.

I'm really glad they are done with Kumar's character though, should have never been on the show in the first place.

Ted and Robin have been done for a long time now and it was just BOOM "I love you Robin!" Pretty much lazy writing IMHO. Plus we know she's not the mother so why waste time with this rehash.

My guess? He will soon accidentally shun the mother while going after Robin, so he will have to make up with her as well

Or, maybe Robin is the mother and this is the best way to throw everyone off with the "I can't have children" series.

he specifically refers to Robin as "Aunt Robin" when telling stories about her. The kids already know little bits about their dad's past, it's not Robin. Hopefully this all ends Monday. No reason giving us the run around with Robin for another little bit.

So... Ted ends up marrying Robin. But since Robin can't have children, he meets his children's "mother" by being introduced to a surrogate. And, since Robin had told Kumar that she never wanted to be a mother, she agrees as long as the children will refer to her as Aunt Robin.

Any other questions?

As stupid as that sounds, I don't put it past writers nowadays, even if it totally contradicts what she told Kumar.

so once again, Robin is a no. But they added something valuable to the plot. The next woman he tells "I love you" to is the mom and it's the first time he says it to her. I've always personally wanted it to be Victoria so I've been trying to recall if he ever tells her that he loves her. Guess I'm going to have to go watch some old episodes...

Still, Marshall said, "not yet" at the end, about the bet. That makes me wonder if they're still planning on getting them back together somewhere down the road. That plot is tired, please drop it, writers.

Yes...please do. And don't have Barney go back to her either. You've done that one almost as many times.

pretty sure last night was the last step to establishing the Barney/Robin wedding for the season finale.

I'm not sure they can go from Ted professing his love for Robin this late in the season to her marrying Barney at the end of the season and Ted being cool enough with it to still be best man.

I really found that episode kind of pointless; seems the writers ran of idea and threw this in as a filler episode. Out of nowhere Ted confesses his love for Robin and then it gets cleared up in the span of one episode.

that's been a fixture for every season. lots of dead ends, but you're missing the key point that was made. The next woman Ted says "I love you" to is the mother. And whoever it is, he's never said that to her before.

True, but if he doesn't say "I love you" to this woman for 3 more years then by then I'm not sure how many are going to care. Have they established how many more seasons this is going to go?
