You should really stop with the victimization crap. I am only challenging your argument, if you can't handle it, this probably isn't the forum for you. I am not accusing you of anything. I am speaking from my experience and challenging your "peace will never happen" statement.
You need to get out of the south more. Racism is here and the north and probably worse than what you see in the South.
So I am not trying to make you appear more racist just pointing out your lack of experience. One year at an acadamy in Colorado does not make your opinion of the south show a lot of credibility.
While we talk about a wide variety of subjects here, you can only take so much away from it. You know exactly zero about my personal experience and other reasons for my stances.
OMG, you mean you develop your opinions from your life and your experiences too? What a great idea, I wish I would of thought about that...
Oh no, I don't think children are influenced by teachers or tv....... not at all.....
The Simpsons are a clear example of liberal slant?
If you have watched for any amount of time the show satires any one and every thing!
I've been watching The Simpsons since the first episode. The show definitely has a liberal slant. They may poke fun at Bill Clinton every now and then, but his day is done.
Yes, I know this topic has already been addressed long ago, but I like to add my input if I come across an area where I'm an expert.
Oh come on!
The show makes fun of both sides!
It is actually a really fun topic to discuss especially when the topic is the Simpsons and Religion.
The reaction is the same, a harsh it is anti-religious and a harsh it is a deeply religious show.
It is all what you want to see or be offended by.
It makes fun of both sides, as does the Daily Show. However, both of those shows make fun of one side more than the other. There are entire episodes that characterize Republicans as evil. There are occasional scenes that may poke some good, light-hearted fun at liberals.
I was simply being honest about my experience. I wish people like you could respect honesty in an anonymous forum. Yes, it was just one year. And I have lived in the south most of my life. There are a lot of people that believe driving through a town makes them an expert. I was just giving my opinions with my honest experience. I do vacation in CO and so I have spent time out there with locals and have talked about racial issues. And in my classes we discussed racial issues and it was a hot topic b/c I was the southern girl and they all wanted to know why there was such a problem between whites and blacks. That is when I asked why there was such a problem between whites and Hispanics out there and the discussion ended. There is an elephant in all races of people in different parts of the country.
I didn't realize you had to be an expert to give an opinion.
I never said you had to be an expert, I'm talking about experience.
I am stating that you shouldn't base your whole world view
I have clearly said In my opinion of the SOUTH and then I do have opionions of CO b/c I did live there for a bit and I still requent the region. AND I go up north and while yes in the city things are still pretty seperate (with the exception of The Village) up state is totally comfortable with racial diversity.
Again, anyone's view is going to be world wide. I can't tell you my opinion of England relations without visiting and I didn't pretend to do that.
I never realized that actually understanding the plight of African-Americans meant that I hated America or blamed the system that is America.TRUT, I didn't realize you were the hate/blame America type.
The reason Africans were slaves in the first place is because the various tribes hated each other, fought (still fight), captured each other, enslaved each other and sold each other. And the West African slave trade had been around for centuries prior to the time that slaves came to North America (and continued after America stopped importing them). Great civilizations do not develop in that type of environment. Don't try to blame Western Europe and America for the state of affairs in western Africa. And, yes, the slaves who were purchased and brought to America were probably treated better by their "massa's" than they would have been by the rival tribe that originally captured them. There was a lot of barbaric behavior from the AFRICANS who captured and enslaved other AFRICANS for sale on the slave market. Are you aware that, of all the places where West African slaves were taken, only in North America did that slave population reproduce en mass, and only in North America did the slave population have a life expectancy equal to whites. So, perhaps, even the original slaves themselves were better off in America, yes. And as for their descendants, it is beyond argument that they are FAR better off in America than they would be today if they were still in Africa.
Furthermore, your comparisons to Native Americans and Jews during the Holocaust is so far off base and ludicrous that it doesn't even deserve a response.
You have, unfortunately, bought into the lie that the liberal democrats and media have been telling you for so long: that America is responsible for all of the world's problems.
