how long does CJH stay at UT?

My two cents - FWIW - Coach Heupel has always said 'We came to Tennessee to compete for championships and play on the biggest stage.".
It doesn't get any bigger in college football than the SEC, so unless something crazy happens and the SEC implodes, I don't him leaving anytime soon.

That said though, the game in the NFL is evolving (which makes sense as more and more young players are drafted in to replace the older guys, the coaches have to adapt at some point to styles those players are playing), you can see with the likes of Miami, San Francisco, Indianapolis, and others that are running a more wide spread balanced attack type offense.
If that trend keeps up, I could see Coach leaving after a couple of National Titles.

Until that incessant cough gets him. Probably when he’s about 85 years old and has 10 Tennessee national titles on his obituary.

CJH has been a miracle worker since coming here. Tennessee is an outstanding place to coach. He's building an empire. But there is almost a certainty that he is going to get approached by someone like OU, Mich, FL, etc. and they are going to back a truckload of money up to his house and try to get him in the truck. My gut says that he stays just because he's built the empire or UT passes the hat to every fan in America to keep him here. I know he loves being here and Tennessee has treated him like royalty. But I can't help but fear that, despite the treatment at OU, he has a desire to coach there. I mean, the only thing that could be better that resurrecting a former football powerhouse is resurrecting you old Alma Mater. They haven't won a National Championship since he graduated. If he were to go there and do what he is doing here, he would go down as a Saban like legend. It would kill me to see it happen. Anyone else got any objective thoughts on this?
Were you the person who was scared UGA would come after Dooley?.🙄

If we're going to play this whining "What If" game, what if Newegg hires Josh as their CEO?
Or Tennessee Pride hires him as their marketing guru?

I swear some of you folks can't just be happy when we have good reason to be.

I didn't know that Newegg was after CJH for their new CEO. Why would they do that? I guess considering how he has thrown himself all-in to being our coach, he would theoretically do the same thing with being CEO of Newegg. They have plenty of money to lure him away and into the business world. Wow - that is a real surprise and a worry. I didn't see that one coming. I can understand why he might be interested in being the marketing guru for Tennessee Pride. They make great stuff. I can see his face on the sausage packages already. They could even do a new jingle - 'For Real Country Sausage the Best You've Ever Tried, Look for Josh on the Package of Tennessee Pride.'

We're doomed...

As long as we continue to pay the man what he's worth, he is going nowhere.

There is no program that is more of a "dream job" for him. No, Oklahoma is FAR from that. Josh has less than zero urge to return to Oklahoma. South Dakota is his home, and Tennessee is his forever-home. Oklahoma is just a previous stop along the way. He has already shifted his heart here. In every way you can be short of having a diploma, he is now an alumnus of UT-Knoxville. Forever.

As for other concerns:

-- There is no apparent desire to test himself in the NFL.

--There is no more supportive or capable Athletic Director than his buddy Dan White.

--And there is no program more elite than Tennessee. Several that are our co-equals at the top, but none higher.

Simply put, there is zero reason for Josh to leave, and every reason for him to stay.

Go Vols!
I predict if/when he leaves, it will be for the NFL

This and Heupel likes to win, why waste more time building another program when all you have to do is foot to floor with the one you have.
He loves Oklahoma, loves a lot about that program. There’s a pull there. There’s also a lot that pushes him away from that situation as well imo. I don’t think Josh would leave Danny White though. He loves Tennessee as well.

VOLS have the best facilities, fanbase, top tier athletes, assistant coaches, NIL structure, etc....... so the grass isn't greener anywhere else. Danny White is the Ace in the Hole too

I think he stays. Kiffen wishes he never left for SC. This is the best environment in college football. We managed to land recruits even when we were the trash heap of the sec. Beautiful stadium, great tradition, and great people smack dab in the middle of God's country. I believe he was sold after beating bama in 22. This is what college football is all about!! Remember?

Josh will remain at UT until they disband the football program. I predict that will be about 5 more years, then college football will implode upon itself. You can't have unlimited income highest bidder for players and coaches, free agency for all every year, no rules in recruiting and continue for very long. We need to get our championship on the board right now.

Not just the SEC, UT. It’s a destination job, I can see switching jobs from the Miss schools or something like that.

I think Heupel is here to stay unless he tanks, which I don't think will happen. Now that UT has shown they will spend money and retain top coaching talent as well as at the AD position, we have a lot to look forward to. I sense a good decade upcoming for the Vols!

I should expound on the OU angle as well. As long as Stoops has any affiliation with the OU program I don’t see Heupel being interested. Media plays up the bad blood angle in a lot of situations, Heupel feels he was legit wronged there. They didn’t even speak to each other till recent years. Now I think that relationship has gotten better but still there’s some baggage there.
Stoops feeling burnt and stoopid right now.

Tim Banks is the one we should worry about losing!

I don’t think people realize just how much Tennessee has!
