The more that they keep saying on the ESPN pre Urban speech show, the more I believe that this is latest move by Urban is nothing more than to keep the recruits they have now and that he will resign again after signing day. They are saying way too much about how it effects recruits.

Florida's recruiting will be very interesting next year. Without Urban on staff he won't technically be able to recruit, right? I'll bet you they will bend the rules and Lane will definately have his eye out for that. Does anyone know how much contact he will be allowed to have with his team/recruits?

Meyer may never come back, but if that were the case and they knew this there is no way they would just promote Addazio to Head Coach.

They could just be doing this to get past National Signing Day to secure this class.

I honestly believe this is nothing more than to keep recruits. Too much can be read between the lines here.

If Meyer is still the head coach but on a leave of absence can he still contact recruits?

Not sure of the rules on this, but he is still the head coach.

I'm going to step out on a huge limb here and may have to eat a very very large crow, but Urban never coaches again after this bowl game. Too much not said. This will give Foley time to find a coach and will secure the recruits that are already verbaled.

Yeah, I agree. The comment that his wife made makes it sound like it's something very serious. Maybe he's got cancer, or maybe he did something morally wrong that can only be fixed by spending time with his family. I really hope the guy is ok.

Maybe he just had an affair or something like that and he is just tryin to cover it up. That would be awesome!!!

Not awesome for his family. I too kind of wonder if something like that has happened though, just due to his wife's comment.

It doesn't matter what happens now, The florida family is dysfunctional and not sure what it wants to do? Doubts would surely run rampant in any recruits mind in my opinion

Not even going to get into that with you but this aint the "good ol days" if Tony Dungy wanted to throw his hat into the UF pool he would become the coach at UF. Maybe you really mean Strong will not become the coach at UF. Ignorance is bliss

hiring Tony Dungy would be no question for any college team. hiring a qualified up and coming black coach is a different story. no ignorance in that.

must be tactful -- but this is a crack in florida's armor -- myer's uncertain future spells weakness and doubt for the program......
