Hubbs and Lewis on Pearl's Future

Pattern of lies, infidelities and infractions limit the repent notion you bring up. Repenting means to stop and also to turn away. There has not been any turning away with Bruce. Just empty promises, lip service and deeper lies.

For the love of god, can we leave the question of who he bangs out of the equation.

You need to google prior to every post. Then perhaps your ramblings would make some sense.

Without commenting substantively on the argument at hand here in this thread, I will say that, at the very least, jp1 deserves some credit for keeping things reasonably civil.

You, on the other hand, are just being a dick. I'm cool with that if you're reasonably smart or clever about it. But you're not...you're just being a dick.

For all of those who want Pearl to stay, get ready for some disappointing seasons ahead. In other words, BP has put the University in a no win situation. Plus, he has dragged UT's reputation through the mud.

If you have a UT diploma(s), look at it. Bruce Pearl has taken a dump on what some on here worked hard to obtain.

Bull****. I earned my degree years ago. This bball bbq scandal has nothing to do with it and affects it or me in no way.

When the discussion turns to his character and whether he is a good man or not, no. It paints a pretty vibrant picture on the the type of man we're dealing with here. Sure makes the lies make more sense.

If you want to believe that UT fervently backing a guy that blatantly lied about a repeat cheating offense doesn't impact the image of the university, knock yourself out. However, don't pretend that the rest of the world sees it as anything but sports victories above all else as the UT mantra.

I thought it was "work like heck"?

This is a basketball and athletic dept deal. It has nothing to do with academics and degrees. To say the value of a hard earned diploma by a student is affected by this is dramatic and ridiculous.

My thoughts exactly. When I interview candidates for a job I will probably overlook this so called skid mark on the diploma if it comes from ut.

no but for anyone who follows sports it provides a negative view of the univ. People here know I went to UT so I get asked about it often. It won't prevent a promotion but it helps shape views

I can't believe we're bending over ass-backwards to keep this charlatan. We're like a 17-year-old high school loser threatening suicide to try to keep a horsefaced, lying girlfriend because she's the only one who ever gave him a handjob.

I really like the idea of using how far you made it in the tournament to describe how far you amde it with a girl instead of the bases. Adds a few more areas.

You should work on this.

Be interesting to see what folks hang banners for if anything.

I would agree that keeping things civil is his only asset. As for your comments, I could care less what you think.

Some of the posters will create any excuse to try to support their hero. Amazing stuff that is posted by the supporters. Facts aren't readily accepted.

Mears was never brought up so im not sure why u did. As for the watered down comment... not sure how u can make that ridiculous statement. Didnt the tourny go 64 teams mid 80's? I suppose adding that 1 team to it did water it down quite a bit!

Well, the actual facts are that the tournament went to 48 teams in 1980, 53 teams in 1983, 64 teams in 1985, 65 teams in 2001, and 68 teams in 2011. Since you only want to compare coaches against Pearl that were not successful and don't want to consider any of Mears' tenure as coach, you are obviously correct that Pearl is the greatest coach in your comparison criteria of any in history.
