He's probably closer to the others, has a really bad name throughout the coaching circles. Maybe he's changed but the way he treats people and the women problem should be a valid concern for everyone. Even the Auburn higher ups are throwing a fit because of it and he and Gus are great friends and his daughter is currently a student there. I think Pruitt has the guy he wants locked up and it's all just a timing thing. If he has a zipper control issue, and if (after getting caught) he has repented, made amends, made his wife happy, done the lecture circuit, etc. etc., that's fine. I don't think that there are many of us who haven't had an episode or 20 that make us break into a sweat when remembering at 2:00 a.m. and are grateful that it didn't become public knowledge.
But if he has a pattern of "doing what it takes" to get recruits - in other words, believing that the end justifies the means - then my antennae go up. That's a mentality that doesn't generally change.
There are plenty of people who misbehave privately but who are reasonably honorable in their public and professional lives. And then there are the others.
I just stubbornly want to know how Ole Miss got so good so fast, under his reign. Yes, sometimes the stars and planets align, but...Assuming the hookers are an isolated incident he has a pretty decent track record of givying charitably and being a moral man. I concede that statement relies heavily on a big assumption.....

Only way they are getting rid of Gus is to write him a check for $34 million so if they plan on firing him they better be saving money with their oc hire.I imagine the Auburn holdup is the donors imagine Gus will be gone next yr and don't want to pay a bunch of assistants off when they can't him next yr.....
Please keep posting, it has to get them off of me if they read your postsHe's probably closer to the others, has a really bad name throughout the coaching circles. Oh, I agree with the "everyone else does it."I'm not defending him cheating to get recruits b/c I believe that goes on everywhere he just got careless. Those Bama players driving Tahoes, Challengers etc leased or whatever aren't paid for in tackles.....
We've not cheated in Knoxville for awhile now, maybe some when slimey kiffin was here but Dooley and gym coach Jones were squeaky clean. I don't think all programs do it as you say and see no reason for us to start now.I'm not defending him cheating to get recruits b/c I believe that goes on everywhere he just got careless. You are beyond naive and pretty clueless. I was in school when Johhny Majors and Fulmer later with my brother, we cheated. The coaches dont do it, boosters do and always have. Kids today can't keep secrets for 15 minutes and thousands of them move on every year, thousands have been kicked off teams. Old school guys could keep secrets and didn't have social media. If it was happening everywhere you would see it pop up on social media every day. Do guys get slipped money for dinner and clothes, probably, but boosters out buying cars and houses isn't happening in Knoxville, it happens in the state south of us a bunch and over in the Memphis area a little but as far as cheating goes UT has been clean 9 of the last 10 years compared to other programs.Alright lassie listen up if u think other teams r throwing money around and 18 y.o r choosing tenn over elite programs bc they love the orange and white then I have bad news....santa clause isn't real
Lol, ok but the 1 year only on new assistant coaching hires at Auburn is based purely on rumor similar to the one on here that BOTs stopped the Freeze hire. I'll bet you however much you want that Auburn's next oc signs a contract for more than 1 season!1 yr contract for a Freeze to save another buyout. Not tryin to be rude but try and keep up

You mean the internet rumor that you heard you simple ...... .....!! I wonder why Gus hasn't signed that mysterious new contract yet that would cost him losing millions of dollars if they were to fire him next year, dumbest thing I have ever heard! You need to keep up, here's Beattie Feathers phone number, 8675309, give him a call and ask why in the hell would Gus sign away millions of dollars? You have to keep up better, Gus agreed to reduce his buyout by basically half two days ago
