Hugh Freeze random guess thread (merged)

Though it's my opinion, I'm telling you with absolute conviction, that the man is a master manipulator.

Also, there are several former players who will tell you the exact opposite. I received my bachelors and masters degree from Ole Miss, and was there Hugh's final 2 years before graduating. I hung out with some of those players. Many turned on him and have very little good things to say about him. Many also aren't in the NFL and don't have the money to afford a defamation trial if they tried to come forward with their thoughts on Hugh. He has a lot in common with Butch Jones. Phony.

Wouldn't be the first time. Some Vol legends told us Jack Reynolds cut a car in half with a hacksaw. If it had happened, there would be pictures somewhere.

I thought it was a railroad car, I worked with his brother Art back in the eighties fwiw

Random fact, the reason I became a UT fan at the age of 7 was because my uncle and Hugh (who have been very close friends for years) were both Tennessee fans, and were the only 2 people who would be wearing orange instead of Ole Miss attire. We all watched Tee win us our first NC together at a house party at my uncle's house. So I guess you could say I became a champ chaser by watching UT win a NC with Hugh Freeze. :D:D

Exactly. Freeze as Tennessee OC is likely comparable to the version of Bob Shoop at Miss St.
Lindsey at Auburn was like Shoop was at Tenn.

Easy decision. Freeze as OC at Tennessee.

The thing about Freeze to UT... We wouldn't just be getting a great head coach as our OC. We'd be getting a guy who has wanted to be the HC at Tennessee since his own football career didn't pan out. That's what he set as his goal. So he'd have passion for the university, and a pride for the university that we've been lacking for quite some time (aside from Fulmer becoming AD). It really would be a home-run hire. So I set my opinions of the man aside, bring him to UT.

My guess is they are going to roll out a cannon at halftime. The cannon shoots out an orange personfrom the end zone all the way to midfield. The person stands up afterwards and is revealed to be Hugh Freeze decked in Tennessee gear

Actually, I put together a charity in my hometown of Senatobia, MS 3 years ago for the Baddour's Center (it's an institution here that houses the mentally challenged, provides them a wonderful community, and in general helps them live their lives on their own as adults - it's a wonderful place).

Well, I contacted Hugh's representatives (he was coach at Ole Miss at the time). Told them everything about it, and that we would love to have Hugh come and give a speech about leadership and overcoming adversity (big LOL as I found it hypocritical at the time and still do, but was aware that the impact that a "local legend" could have speaking to his community where he grew up. Well, they scheduled a time in which he was going to call and speak to me personally about it. Never happened, instead I received a call from his secretary in which she confirmed his interest and told me to send more info, as it's something Hugh would "love to do for his hometown" (it's technically not his hometown but w/e). I sent in more info via email, and after some correspondence, decided on a date in which we'd hold the event and that he'd be able to make it.

Two weeks later, I received in the mail 3 autographed photos of Hugh and a very short later that said something along the lines of "Thanks but no thanks".
