Hurricane Ida: The Aftermath

16 years after Katrina, New Orleans still does not know how to do an evacuation. Cantrell and John Bel Edwards should both lose their jobs for this level of incompetence. If this storm jogged 20 miles to the East, its Katrina 2.0 for New Orleans.

Hmmm... surely there is a Republican somewhere they will blame.

‘It won’t work': New Orleans mayor on advice about contraflow for Ida

New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell was advised by Gov. John Bel Edwards and the National Weather Service that contraflow would not work in the city because there wasn’t enough time to implement it ahead of Hurricane Ida’s landfall, the mayor told WDSU anchors Gina Swanson and Sula Kim.

Speaking in a phone interview Saturday night, Cantrell provided details behind the decision not to issue a mandatory evacuation order or enact contraflow, which involves flowing all lanes of traffic in a single direction away from the city.

And the whole country waits anxiously holding their breath to see how that dumbass vegetable in the WH is going to screw up the emergency response to this disaster. For the people of NOLA let’s hope the moron doesn’t turn this into another ongoing fiasco but let’s face it he hasn’t fixed anything yet!
Supposed to be handing out paper towels in the next few days. Republicans should applaud

We need people living and working there. Regardless of how you feel about federal funding. Yea let's just not operate the port of New Orleans or work the offshore oil rigs.

The first several replies are snarky in a thread about a natural disaster where people are suffering. And then OP goes snark. Never change, VN.
