I don't think for a second he sdumb or even slow. When you talk to him he's as normal as any kid his age. Bad study habits? Maybe but as was posted "smart as a rock" is not true. He's a good guy.

Never met him, but from his interviews, this would seem to be true. He did earn his Associates from JuCo, so he is one of the few on the team with an actual degree.

Hyams calling anyone "challenged" is a joke...after all, he's been challenged as a journalist since Phil Fulmer (his prime source) departed.

A few college drop outs became billionaires, Bill Gates comes to mind. Plenty millionaire drop outs too.
It doesn't hurt to have a college degree though.

That comment was made about Terrell Owens during his entire NFL career and he had a pretty good career and made lots of $. Jimmy, I think CP is going to laugh all the way to the bank about that comment.

One of the best careers in history by a wide receiver*

And at the end of the day the kid will be making more money than any of us. Stop hating, geesh!! Correct routes or not, the kid has been the only thing enjoyable in what has been a historical disastrous season.

I do agree that commenting on his intelligence is a little tenuous if that's where anybody is going with it. CP reminds me of what I once heard Jim Donnan say about Champ Bailey. "Screw the playbook. Just make sure he gets on the bus."

One thing for sure Patterson will be a millionaire real soon and have a great NFL career.

Somebody will find a spot for a 'challenged' athlete like CP at the next level. Jimmy also said of CP, 'he isn't enamored with going to class'. I'm glad the kid had a good year and will have an opportunity to financially take care of his family.

Dooley should have suspended kids who don't go to class. That is what Spurrier does.

One and done? He himself said he didn't even expect to play this year..

Didn't expect to play this year....?

And every big time WR recruit that was interviewed has said the staff was telling them we had 3 WR's (Da'Rick before dismissal)expected to go pro. So yes, one and done as soon as he finished summer school and enrolled.

Kids who expect to go pro, and not play next year are notorious for not going to class. The people in South Carolina said he was a one and done. This is no surprise.

Some people cannot help the genetics dealt them in life. He will be a multi millionaire in a year or so. Not many college graduates (myself included ) can say that.

I hope that he gets a mentor in the NFL who advises him to sock away significant amounts of his paycheck for when his body is used up and he is no longer entertaining enough for a team to keep around.

Use'em up, spit'em out. Panem et circenses to help us forget our troubles.

He's a D1 player who put up points and yards in the toughest division in the NCAA. Analysts have said he's either a first round draft pick or early second round. he'll be fiiiiine....
