I am 100% convinced Butch Jones will bring us back

Trying to split a bunch of time between two QBs and the 1s, until 2 hours before the game starts, is pure nonsense. Pick a guy, go with him, and prepare for the week. That didn't happen, and it showed. Gameplan was crap, and having a green QB out there made it even worse. Everything yesterday resembled what it felt like to watch the QB carousel that was 2008.

Like I said, if Peterman was even close to Worley, in regards to playing QB, he would have started the season as the starter. Too many people talked about the disparity between Worley and Peterman, and consistently said it wasn't close.

It was a bad, bad, bad decision to start him on the road.

obviously didn't work out the way he hoped. I'll take a coach who takes some chances, fails, and learns from it.
Just amuses me that most of the people complaining about his decision have been whining about him playing Worley all year and wanted someone else to start yesterday. He starts someone else, and now the same people are calling him a dumbass. Same story. Different day.

They did put him in that situation

Untested and on the road in the SEC

Not good combinations

did you or anyone on here, prior to the game, think we were going to go down there with Worley and beat fla?
No. Not you or anyone.
Do you not think coaches that see the same things we do and more have the same thoughts at times?
People complain when a coach doesn't try to make a move to win a game and complain when he does. That's just how it goes. I never get mad at a coach that makes a decision that he thinks puts them in the best position to win. If it's wrong, it's wrong. So what. I see wrong and bad decisions every minute I watch football.

I will stand behind my vols 100 percent no matter what happens rebuilding takes time please folks lets have patience. I do believe CBJ IS THE REAL DEAL, look at what he has to deal with at the depth chart, our time will come. GO VOLS we are behind you..

Vegas had us at 17.5 point dogs for a reason, but they don't know anything compared to the talent evaluators on here.

The point is that Butch and co didn't think Worley could lead his team to a win, just as 99.9% of us thought, so he gambled. That just doesn't piss me off like it does others.
What sucks is that typical UT luck, if Worley did start and play decent along with uf's to's, we may win. Can't get a damn break, even when trying to create one as a 3 score dog.

I'm not pissed but it's pretty easy, in hindsight, to say it was a bad decision. Butch rolled the dice and lost.

I can see wanting to make a change or mix things up, but Peterman would have had to look like Peyton Manning in practice for me to give him his first start in the Swamp. Bring him off the bench early in the game if you think he can help, but naming him the starter wasn't the right move.

We learn from it and move on.

Butch may have made the move to avoid losing the team. If Peterman looked better in practice, his teammates would think he needed to start.

That's kind of what i figured.. Peterman probably had a good week of practice. I thought maybe he'd play, i didn't think he'd start.

And why do you try to build this strawman? Who said anything at all about a championship this year? Stay classy, OK?

Could be Ainge... the OC definitely isn't Cut.

If you think UF played anything like an upper tier team or did not give UT many opportunities to win the game... you need to work on that beam in your own eye before picking at my speck.

Wow. Disagreeing with you makes someone an ignorant moron. Grow up. If you can't handle disagreement then just don't post rather than showing yourself to be classless by ridiculous and TRULY ignorant namecalling.

Yes. We will find out over the next 3 years. If you weren't COMPLETELY ignorant of what I have CONSTANTLY posted here... you'd know that I have said the same thing many times.

It is not just you but it is a combination of some of the most ignorant fans I have ever seen on a message board that has put me over the top. I have no beam and we must wait and see. But, so many are ready to faire butch now.

I posted on the other reasonable thread you started what I see. Main thing is the type of players he is recruiting such as a possible top 25 player who just committed for 2015 right after this loss. Those guys are seeing stuff in Jones. So, something must be there.

He has won everywhere else he has been and sometimes not in the first few games.

He is not perfect but he better be the right coach.

If he is not, this program will be dreadful for a very long time. At least another decade. The instant gratification of so many is ridiculous. We have to give this guy four to five years really for him to have a chance to get the kind of players we need to have.

Otherwise, no one worth a darn will come here and the team will continue to stay in the lower tier of the conference. We have to stay committed to this staff to have a shot of rising to the top of the conference and give them a chance. If he is gone in three years, chances are we will not be able to get a top coach for a long time to come lead this program traditions or not.

That.... doesn't help.

... and 3-8 the year before preceded by two 5-6 seasons.

How much do you know about Nutt's tenure and end at Arkansas?

And 5-7 the year before.

1-11 the year before.

You got one... they were 5-5 the year prior too.

Took over the program at another historic low spot... but had already won a NC and coached a Heisman winner.

3-9 the year before.

Sumlin, Freeze, Mullin, MeyerX4, SabanX2, Richt, Swinney, J Fisher, SpurrierX2, Fulmer, Hoke, and numerous others.

Generally speaking, coaches who replace coaches worse than themselves... impact winning right away.

Only a few that become successful later start out by taking a step back from the coach they replaced.

If UT wins six it is one more than the won the previous two years. Simple math there.

I don't need to see anything else. He is the right guy and from here on out I'm just gonna enjoy the ride.

Palardy.

Palardy was a beast tonight. I kept checking to see if that was really him booming those punts. Talk about turning the corner.

Has anybody talked about what happened at the end of the half. If Dooley would have made that mistake he would have been cricified. But I guess we are supposed to be drinking the butch juice for the next couple years.

Well it will be for more than a couple of years.

We have had these players all along just didn't know how to utilize them correctly..

In the Wizard of Oz, when Dorothy asks Glenda the Good Witch to help her get back home, Glenda said " Those ruby red slippers can get you where you want to go--- you've had the power all along -- you just didn't know how to use the power"

We've had the players -- we just didn't know how to get the power out of them. Butch is the Wizard of Volz and all he says... Three Clicks and you say " There's no place like TEnnessee... There's no place like Tennessee.. and before you know it you will be in the SEC or National Championship game!"
Long story short - these players absolutely have talent and the power and I think they are now learning how to use it and believe that it will get them where they want to go!

I am more excited with this win than any I've seen since 2004 over Florida. They played with great. Heart and team chemistry. But his the man!! Way to beat those cocks!
