I cannot believe what I just watched

Warlick started sitting DeShields, I'm assuming, not just because she commits too many turnovers but also because her shooting was bad. She had a series of games in which she was, say, 4-14 with 6+ turnovers. That's a BIG net negative for a game. She was good tonight--and, YES, when your best player only plays 24 minutes a game your team is ****** up. I'm sure there was another reason for sitting DeShields--her constant sourpuss, unhappy attitude. I'm pretty sure her crap attitude has dragged down the team this year.

The team is a freakin mess. Warlick and her staff are a mess. Cooper played 3/4 of the game--why? She's terrible against zone defenses, and she was 3-15 today. Why did she play so much? It was just the end of the game that cost us, when you score only a pathetic 18 points in the first half and are chasing the game all afternoon, you are obviously making it very hard to win.

Also, Dunbar had 2 treys in a mere 8 minutes of playing time. Another Warlick screw-up. She should be playing more--that is obvious. Our offense sux, our offense against zones is pathetic--and yet our best 3-point shooter sits for all but 8 minutes. Our coaches are idiots.

This from a New Orleans newspaper:

"It was the first win at home for LSU coach Nikki Fargas against Tennessee, her alma mater. The loss is likely to drop the Lady Volunteers out of The Associated Press Top 25 for the first time since 1985 after starting the season at No. 4".

I forgot the LV started out ranked # 4 in the country. This is unbelievable. 16-11 and losing to the worst team in the SEC? They are calling this an "upset" but is it really? The upset is when that inept joke of a coach finds a way to coach this team to a victory. Holly called the win over the 2nd worst team in the SEC...Ole Miss...at home no less...a "great win".

Wow. She has taken the standards of this once proud program and just brought them down to levels we never thought we'd ever see.

# 4 in the entire nation when this season started. Now? This is beyond embarrassing and pathetic. It's so bad Holly would be touting a win over Austin Peay as a "great victory for our program". "Don't let that Lady Gov 2-26 record fool you. That is a very tough and talented Austin Peay team...and i'm just so proud of our lady's". I'm out of adjectives to describe the dumpster fire Holly has created. She is destroying this program.

Well at least we have all those top recruits coming in next yr. Oh wait.........

Please Holly! Leave this program! For the 1000th time. It is time to go.

Those girls will not play for you , ever! Look at the body language! A new lineup again today? Every team but ours has a starting lineup. You cannot keep changing lineups for every game.

Yes we are furious that it has been aloud to go on game after game. I will not blame our players. They are young and have to be coached. There will be transfers this year and we may not have a team. Maybe that is what it will take!

No recruit will come here because they know we are in a mess.

Will not buy tickets next year. My family is done!

Sorry, but this bothers me. Where's the pride in your school? Where's the heart and will to play for yourself and your team? Forgive or not the politically incorrect phrase....but grow a pair and show some heart.

I would kick Diamond off for her post game interview. I think Holly and her both need to go

We need to lose Warlick and DeShields. I don't give a damn how talented you are, if your attitude is terrible, you are going to drag the team down. I think she's dragged the team down. Warlick is not a good coach--but DeShields has made her job more difficult than ever. Warlick said in her presser today that "Diamond decided to play." That is pretty much what we've seen with DD--an individual who sort of plays when she feels like it, and never seems to be enjoying the game of basketball. Who the hell wants to play with someone like that? I'm tired of both of them.

Worst LV team ever. No fire in any players. Someone said "zombies" and they are right. Zombie quitters.

Bunch of prima donnas out there worrying about their finger nails more than their defensive assignment. I can only hope that MANY decide to transfer after the season. They are putrid as a LV team.

At the risk of being labeled a troll by Frozenbrain, there is only one word to describe today's game...PATHETIC!!! Anyone who pops on here and defends CHW at this point should just admit they have ZERO knowledge of basketball..There is no "support the coach" or "get behind the team" that could possibly justify allowing this situation to continue as is..In the 40+ years of watching and cheering for the LV's, this is IMO the worst coaching/playing by a LV team I've seen....PATHETIC!!!

I just watched the ending. That is the type of sequence that happens to a program that is trending in the wrong direction. It's like all of the close games the 2012 Vols lost under Dooley.

I think these same girls could be top 5 in the country with competent coaching.

I agree it was pitiful lets see your up by one point with 4 seconds left and Russell shooting free throws. Why are your players even on the offensive side of hAlf court? If Russell makes the free throws the game is over and if she doesn't then all 5 players are positioned on the defensive end starting at half court and carter would not have been there to make that stupid foul ! Basketball 101 and I would bet that holly failed that class?

I'm still trying to figure out how she wasn't shooting free throws on the loose ball foul at the end of the game. I guess they called it a player control foul, but the LSU post lost the ball and fouled as DeShields was going for it. Definitely should have been shooting in my opinion...

Player's postgame reaction: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zy_Tww6o4jo

DeShields you can see the absolute frustration on her face. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see her transfer again. I wouldn't blame her either. Holly doesn't treat her fairly when it comes to how she plays with her minutes given on the court. Seems she has a short leash for DeShields over most other players. How can that be for your best overall player? Makes no sense whatsoever!

Diamond is our best player without question but she's always looking over her shoulder to be taken out of the game for her mistakes when the rest of the girls do the same thing. I'd trust Diamond with the ball in her hands anyday over any other player that we have. Holly won't let her be!

The only thing that might make an impact on a coaching change is a decrease in attendance at home basketball games and a decrease in season ticket sales for the 2017 season.

It's not like the Lady Vols generate revenue. Dont think the AD really cares about attendance or ticket sales for LV games

In support of the "big picture" of Lady Vol basketball, I will not be attending any more games until we have a competent head coach. Flame away.

Funny, UT's mens Bball team got beat by the worst team in the SEC as well....Pitiful.

The mens team was also picked to finish 13th out of 14 teams in the conference, not 5th in the Country. You can't compare the two. The mens team has over-achieved while the women's team has been pitiful

Kick DeShields off the team, and Tennessee will be even worse than they are this year.

If she wasn't playing with 2 upperclassmen guards who were worse than the LSU walk-ons, then she (and the rest of the team) would have looked a helluva lot better.

As bad of a coach as Holly is, you can't coach stupid and the plays , or lack thereof , that our players made today in the last 30 seconds made me feel sorry for Holly. If the missed FT's weren't bad enough, fouling LSU up 1 with 4 seconds to go was just plain STUPID!

At the end, there appeared to be no coaching from the bench and no on-floor leadership. Someone should have been screaming "No fouls" and giving some defensive instruction. Just decent man-to-man defense as LSU brought the ball up would have resulted in a very tough shot for them -- not two free throws. I could be wrong -- and I'll watch the replay later.

Benching DD because of a couple turnovers proved to be unwise. She feels bad because she says she could have helped her team if she had played more. (Watch her post game presser comments.) And Carter and Russel were put in position to be the goats ... what's that going to do for their confidence going forward? Carter might not be a huge offensive threat -- but check out Cooper's stats.

Holly is reacting instead of acting, and coaching scared. And the team is playing the same way. When you worry and wait for something bad to happen, it usually does.

Maybe we get lucky and Holly asks herself what exactly does Carter do to warrant so much playing time.

I'd take Cooper trying to make plays over Andraya hiding in the corner any day of the week. At least with Cooper, there's a potential that one of those shots might go in.

DeShields needs to go? Well, you might get your wish after the season when she transfers to another school because of this garbage. She's our best overall player dude! Can you not see that? If we didn't have her on this team we would be under .500 & no chance for the NCAA tourney. Wake the crap up!
