probably, he brought bray, hunter, brown, jj and a slew of other players and even though he was a flop palardy was mentioned as being the top kicking prospect out of highschool in another thread, i know dooley has brought some jr college transfers in though.

I think its going to be interesting to see what Pat Hayden does if Kiffin drops his remaining games to UCLA and Notre Dame, which is very possible.

No Way!!!! No way a home-run hire such as kiffin loses 5 games with the talent that USCw has. I mean everyone knows how great of a coach he is.....if he were still here we would be competing for SECC and maybe even a NC. If he were still here we would have 5* players lined up to play at Tennessee. (Sarcasm)

Now for a serious note, we are now seeing just how good of a coach he is not.

We are lucky that we are not looking at a lot more than we have already gotten. We were on the road to some pretty stiff penalties similar to what Alabama got in the early 2000's. Some of you need to quit with the Kiffin grumbling and at least thank Dooley that he ran a clean program. Had Kiffin stayed another year Orgeron and Garza would have both been encouraged to look around. Orgeron was already looking around. There was also a good change that Chaney was looking to head back to the NFL. Eddie Gran had already left due to Kiffin's shenanigans so the staff Kiffin originally came with would have been a shell of its original self.

The thing is though they (NCAA) said they would go more after coaches than school (assuming school was doing their job). Tennessee's compliance dept. is one of the best. If a coach does these things after school has gone over rules and is not turning blind eye, than why should school be punished?

Not Hunter. Most of Kiffins players are gone.

You sure? I think Dooley pulled Hunter. At least, if I remember correctly, Hunter committed (or had them #1 on his list) to LSU and Dooley flipped him?

It was a combo effort. Dools never would have landed hunter if Willie Mack hadn't spent many an hour wearing a path to his front door.

I'll agree with that, but Hunter committed 5 days after Dooley became the head coach. I find it odd that LSU was the leader until 5 days after Dooley is hired.

Now, I'm not defending Dooley, just giving credit where credit is due.

Yeah, I agree. But as I recall (and I may be wrong), Willie Mack worked with Dooley for the first week or so. Is that correct?

Correct, it may have been longer than a week. I digress. :mf_surrender::mf_surrender:

Still, would like to think it was more Dooley, seeing as the bullsh!t Willie Mack got us in.

...what in the world happened to Al in that picture? Looks like one of his lineman was told the wrong thing about his play ability & cold cocked Al pretty good. :eek:lol:

Nothing actually happened to him, I think he was just decomposing. I'm pretty sure Al died a few years before that pic was taken. Al being Al though, the ol' bastard just refused to lie down and quit moving.

Yeah, that's what I meant. It was kind of nice having ESPN covering a guy, waiting for his decision, and then it turns out to be Tennessee. Remember those days when we were actually relevant?

I read one time that Gen. Neyland, after going to the Rose Bowl in 1939 said if he coached in southern California he would never have to leave the state to recruit and would never lose a game with all that talent.

I know this may sound like a likely story, but my girlfriend's best friend was neighbors with the kiffins. her parents took us over there to meet them, and layla came to the door with baby in arms. one thing led to another and next thing I know I have that damn baby in my arms. I was the only guy there, so they were trying to pick on me

I would have rather held her "puppies".
