I think Al didn't care for Kiffin for a lot of reasons--chief among them was Kiffin disagreeing over JaMarcus Russell (drafting and playing him). Supposedly Kiffin wanted Calvin Johnson---which ironically he was correct on (you see how that worked out--Megatron is a premier wide receiver). Russell is probably one of the biggest busts in NFL history.

Didn't he try to kick a 75 yard field goal or something?
