Major upsets are definitely more likely in basketball. A better comparison of UT basketball vs UK football is that UT basketball has actually been nationally relevant for the better part of the past 7 seasons; we're barely a .500 team this year, but we've done enough to show that we're not going away. UK has been nationally relevant in football for a grand total of one week in the past 30+ years (hosting GameDay vs Fla a week after beating LSU).

The uconn win was a big win. At the time they were ranked highly and still had Calhoun on the bench. How is it our fault that they have tanked once their hall of fame coach went down. Ok so EVEN if you want to factor in they are no longer a highly ranked, they are still a top rpi team with a much higher rpi than us. Therefore, the NCAA would consider that a good win. They lost to good teams, all these other teams around them have a bad of iffy loss. UT has had 6 NCAA championships in multiple sports since UK's last one. Overall UT has 65 Reg season SEC championships, UK has 53 (44 in basketball hahaha) Only 8 total SEC championships of 53 have come since 1998, 6 basketball. UT has had 21 SEC championships since then, 0 from football....
