I hope Peyton Manning...

And yet if the Bronco defense played this way, you'd laud them loud and long. Sure I want our Volgod's team to win. Because he's too classy to use fault finding as an excuse if he doesn't. Seahawk play is nothing new. Many great defenses did the same thing. The great Cowboy defenses of the late 1960's and early 70's. The periodic Chicago Bears defenses of yore, and the Philadelphia units a few decades ago, not to mention the furious Rams defenses of the Deacon Jones-Merlin Orson years. Then there were the Vikings Purple People Eaters. The Baltimore Colts of that era had bad guys, one was a guy named Curtis. He literally tried to remove people's heads, literally. They all had the attitude of, "We're going to hurt you and if your mom steps onto the field, we'll kill her for giving birth to you."

If the Broncs were playing this way and got away with it, you'd defend them. Now go ahead and deny it. Me? I'm less concerned about the DBs and CBs than I am about the blitzing LBs and DL. I don't think Pey is going to have a lot of time. But he's one smart cookie, he'll probably just switch strategy and nickle and dime them into shocked submission. He made a liar out of me by beating the dangerous Pats, I'd like him to do it again with Seattle. Go Pey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First off his name is Peyton not Pey, I mean really, that doesn't sound gay at all. Second the Seahawks D is really good and talk all you want during a game but at least try and show a little class afterwards. Then again, look no further than the head coach, a man who tucked his tail between his legs and got out of LA before **** hit the fan. Then you have fans throwing things at Bowman as he's being carted off the field, this is a class organization from top to bottom. Scumbag coach, scumbag players, scumbag fans.

Please read this as being not an attack on you but a stiff defense of my right to free speech.

I'll call him whatever I want. It is typically American to create and use nicknames and monikers as well as acronyms. The Constitutions provides me with the right of free speech. [End defense]

Now about your vendetta against the Seahawks, I will not question your justification. I will however remind you that while humans can be practically angelic in their behavior, they can also be demonic. Recall how both Condredge Holloway and his mom were treated by Vols fans when he was hurt and not able to play with his past effectiveness. Then there's the mailing of manure to panel voters because our man Pey didn't get the Heisman. And now plans being made to make genuine azzes of ourselves when Kiffin comes to Knoxville with the Crimson Tide. In short when you point at the other guys, don't be surprised if you (we) are just as bad if not worse. That's the problem with judging your fellow man, you see, he is us.

I wish UTs defense acted exactly like Richard Sherman.

Its their most hated rival for Gods sake......You wouldnt be saying the same thing if a UT player talked trash about Florida

He talks like that when he's at the 7-11...buying a Monster

Did you just compare us to bammers?!?

Sherman is a character, no doubt. I couldn't stand him either until I read a very good Sports Illustrated article about him. It certainly changed my opinion of him, but wish his mouth would quieten down somewhat. He was obviously very pissed at Crabtree after the game and it showed in that rant to Erin in the post game interview.

This is going to be a great matchup. #1 D vs. #1 O, great receivers and QB against the best secondary in the NFL. The hawks secondary is huge and will no doubt give Denver's offense the biggest challenge they've had yet. Let's hope Denver's o-line shows up again and keeps Peyton clean so he can find the holes and pick apart Seattle.

Me, too. I just hope he's all done with that annoying "Omaha" nonsense.

I hope he doubles up...he's real good at it by now...why stop for people that get annoyed at trivial things?

Classless act by Sherman. His post-game interview does not change the fact that he is one of the best CB's in the NFL, and his athletic ability does not change the fact that he is an crude and arrogant ass. It is what it is.

Would not surprise me to see a lot of laundry fly when he is targeted by opposing QB's from now on. The NFL has a way of policing itself, and Shermans' mouth may have just made him an inviting target for NFL officials. We'll see what happens in the SB, and next year.

Go Vols.

Well, SPED, no one except Peyton and his teammates (it would seem) know what "Omaha" means when Peyton uses it. It could have a code for variation of plays based on what was said in the huddle. It could be code telling the team the called play is changed to another one. It could be code for a specific player to employ a specific motion within the called play. It could be code for plays based on intonation or number of times "Omaha' is spoken. And using the same term can make opponents overhearing assuming they figured it out. When in fact they haven't because of the type of things I previously mentioned. They go into a coverage that creates a mismatch. So instead of foolishness, it could be a ruse to stymie opponents and enhance defeating them. You don't know. I don't know. Personally, I think it's a Native American word employed by an insurance company of questionable integrity. :hi:

I read the same article, and I agree completely. At the time, I remember thinking "This guy is sharp."

His mouth, IMO, will be his undoing.

Go Vols.

We're talking about the highest scoring offense of all time versus a very good (not great) Seattle defense.

Sherman can jaw all he wants; the Broncos offense are an unstoppable force.

That unstoppable force left a lot of points on the field after entering the red zone time and again. Just saying.

I don't really understand why folks get so upset about an NFL player running his mouth. Sherman plays a really difficult position and is one of the best. Whatever he needs to do to fire himself up is fine with me. Guys seem to need an attitude to go out there on an island and dominate.

Besides, guys like Sherman come and go. It doesn't seem like anyone dominates at that position long term anymore. Let him have his moment in the sun. We'll be on to a new #1 corner a few years from now. It's not like the Manning v. Brady stuff that keeps getting hyped and keeps repeating the same specious arguments for over a decade. Now that's what gets old.

I hope Peyton Manning...

wins the super bowl this year... retires from the NFL...and becomes the offensive coordinator/QB coach, and one heck of a recruiter for UT :)
