I Like Cuonzo but the blame for this loss (GA)

Regardless of the defense, you drive and put up a shot at rim. You either get fouled or score. Golden shooting a 15 ft one handed shot is not a decent look.

And how do you know that's not what CCM drew up?

I'll give Golden and Martin this, the shot was an open look and not a long 3. It seemed he slipped though and was off balance as he took the shot. It almost went in. If not for the long rebound, we might've been able to get the board and the rebound. Still don't know why the hell we didn't try to get it inside.

Rucker said Martin said in the post game that he was mystified as to why UT had 20 turnovers because UGA doesn't pressure the ball. How about Tatum and Golden making mind numbing passes or getting stripped constantly going to the hoop. That's when I wish Martin would rip their ass a new one after making stupid mistake after stupid mistake.

We do not have one. I fail to see how that is Coach Martin's fault.

Didn't say it was. But if Trae is going to play point, they have to coach him up to take charge. That's the only option.

And just not setting picks on Trae's left hand would be a simple change too. He can only finish right. No idea why we keep picking him left.

Martin being "mystified" on the turnovers should throw up a red flag.

Montenegro scored on Skylar and a breakaway, as well as a couple of ft's. They didn't run the offense through him, so I don't believe he'll have assists.

Thornton didn't get a shot off on Stokes. Not sure about Williams. Stokes didn't play bad D. Not at all.

I'm not saying Stokes played bad D at all. He has mental lapses that leads to open shots. Some may not even be mental lapses but communication problems with his teammates.

Whether to switch on a screen or hedge. Or losing your man in a crowd on a break. This happens with Stokes more than the other post players. He'll learn and grow

We had 20 turnovers and 6 assists tonight.

That's atrocious. Martin said that they needed to address the turnovers after the Ky game. Looks like it still needs work.

Uk is the most talented team in the country. they win by 3 against us at thompson who is bottom 4 in conference from a talent stand point. yall can keep pulling your hair out over this....but until we get more ball players in here this is the way it will be. You do not get road wins with skyler mcBee extended minutes. period. yall know this.

the turnovers are my number 1 concern. they are unforced turnovers for the most part, just us dribbling it off our foot/knee, or stepping on the baseline, or throwing the ball out of bounds. these are turnovers that good teams dont make, you have to take care of the ball. if we take care of this ball we win this game easily, the way the defense played this shouldnt have even been a ball game.

Umm, Golden has hit 15 ft one handed shots all year, it is a decent look. Any time you get a shot from the foul line area, with nobody in your face, is a decent look.

The actual play drawn up was a high screen with a drive to the basket. The Georgia defender on Stokes actually did his job and stayed on Stokes, because that was going to be your dump off man if he had moved up to stop Golden. If you want to put the screw up on Golden that is fine, he is the one who pulled up for the shot, but atleast it was an open shot.

The blame for our loss is Trae Golden, he is nothing but a ball hog and seems to miss most of his shots. Get him out of there.

GTFO! Seriously... you guys are ****ing delusional. Who else do you recommend we put in the game genius?

Yeah.. let's take our leading scorer and the guy leading the SEC in assists and run Wes at the point. Or how about Richardson? Hell, let's just let McBee run it.

Sound good bro?

And you really think that's what cost us this game.
We lost this game in the first half giving up easy baskets on transition.
Our guards were loafing down the floor. We gave up at least 10 points there.
And we don't have a guard that can handle the ball without turning it over or make a pass to the right color shirt.
Your lazy guards cost us this game.

This.:good!:

has to totally be on him. Stokes didn't play the entire OT until 26 seconds left. Without him, we never even get to OT. For some reason, CCM is determined to play him as little as possible. Don't understand.....

I don't agree. I was more confused by setting Golden so long in the 2nd half than Stokes. I don't blame Martin really for this loss. I think the last play could of been drawn up different but overall, it's on the team for forgetting fundamental things like boxing out and dumb decisions.

If golden passes it's a great play.

It all goes back to coaching.

Listen....ive done this for awhile. If you are going to win on the road...you have to have talent. Look at the last 20 years of ut bball. We do not have enough right now. Bruce won on the road....Jerry won on the road....what is the differnce? TALENT. BUZZ could not win cus a lack of talent with the exception of year one. We have to get better players. Cuonzo can flat out coach...yall no we need a couple more ball players. I see 4 players on the court that do not want the ball on the road. If we want to get back to big boy bball we gotta get some studs.

If you have done this for a while then you realize that CBP had a winning record with Buzz players. You can't hang with top talent if you don't have talent also and we have had way to many close games to cry we have no talent. What we have is no coaching.

Once again, star rankings do not matter when the rubber hits the road and I would take a team with Bradshaw, Lofton, J. Smith, C.J. Watson, Wingate and Asumnu over the group we have now and it really isn't close. Your blind support for Pearl and ridiculous criticisms of CCM are getting really old...

Only so much a coach can do man. You wanna play coach; who Do you play at pg SG and sf? This should be interesting?

I have no problem with Trae at the point. Apparently from some of the repeated mistakes either the coach or the players handling the ball late in the game are not the sharpest tools in the shed. This team has a "I want to be the hero mentality" and it is killing us that we had rather take a thirty foot jumper instead of working it down low or our guards trying to take it low and score over the oppositions post players.

Unless we can get it inside, we have no one other than Golden that can take someone off the dribble.

Who else are you going to use?

McRae? He gets picked way too many times and dribbles the ball off his foot. His defense is atrocious.

Tatum? See McRae except for his defense is better. That's not saying much.

McBee? He's a spot up shooter. He can't drive.

Woolridge? LMAO.

Richardson? Uh, no.

Washpun? A turnover waiting to happen.

Our guards and wings are just bad right now. No other way to say it. If Hopson or Harris were still here, they would've taken that last shot probably. Pearl loved to get the ball to Tyler Smith where he could create and drive or stop and shoot. We have no player that can do that right now.

Do you remember the way Bruce's last second plays looked? 35 foot fade alway threes, atleast now we are getting inside the 3 point line. The shot by golden wast a horrible one, atleast the ball wasn't stripped this time and we got a good look. With that's said the ball does need to go inside, no questions asked.

That was more last year.

When he had Tyler Smith, he let him go one and one and he hit a number of crucial shots at the end of the game.

I hope Stokes becomes more of that guy.

very true just making the point atleast this years last second shots are better than last years. with that said if another game comes down to the last second and we arent atleast trying to get the ball inside to maymon or stokes there is going to be an issue.
