I Like Cuonzo but the blame for this loss (GA)

Sure I do. A coach's responsibility is to put the BEST players on the floor that give him a chance to win. If you can honestly tell me Stokes isn't one of the best 5 players on the team, then I'll agree with you. Otherwise, he should've been playing in OT.
Your argument is moot anyway. Stokes went in at about the 2:39 mark.
Go back, watch it again and then apologize to CCM.

I don't think it matters because in the long run Kenny Hall's ass will be right there on the bench beside Martin in clutch situations at the end of games unless Maymon or Stokes is in foul trouble.

Kenny is just lazy and Stokes still doesn't know the defense well enough to be in there during critical stretches. That won't last for long. Stokes had 11 points, 8 boards in 26 minutes. He played 9 more minutes than the Ky game. Wave bye bye to Kenny.

This is what will eventually happen. However, young Stokes has been a Vol for a week. It takes time.

Give me examples that prove me wrong. I have plenty to support my position.

Pittsburg - 61 points

Memphis - 69 points

Florida - 67 points

Miss St. - 62 points

Kentucky - 65 points

Georgia - 57 points

Now, how many of those teams is Tennessee better than this year?

Florida - 8th in NCAA in PPG

Kentucky - 16th in NCAA in PPG

You can't play these teams this close and this hard without having heart. You don't hold Florida and Kentucky to under 70 points with no heart. This team has scrapped and busted their ass on defense. You have to give them credit for that.

I think after tonight, with a few more practices, Jarnell has to play down the stretch late.

I would have prefer Jarnell down the stretch. But I can see it go either way.

I'm just not seeing that there is an argument. If Hall was a player, it would be different. I haven't seen him play any better D than Stokes, but Stokes will at least go after a ball. Hall let his man get 2 offensive rebounds--off an shot and a ft- down the stretch. I don't understand why that's considered experience and good D. Ga wasn't going inside, so all that was required was help and rebounding.

If Kenny won't box out during a critical juncture or chase down a rebound then it won't take long for Martin to put Stokes in there.

I'd rather get burned by a guy trying and not knowing the defense yet rather than a guy who has been in the program 3 years and he is still lazy as hell.

No excuse for us not to retrieve the rebound yet again at the end of the game. Ky outhustled us at the end of the game and UGA did too tonight. At some point, you have to question your team's toughness and will to win.

Stokes gave up multiple baskets tonight with lapses in defense.

I think everyone would prefer Stokes playing in OT. But in reality, Stokes was gassed after regulation and his defense isn't where it should be when he isn't gassed.

Everyone on the floor should be gassed at the end of regulation. If you aren't, it's probably why you didn't win. There is also a long timeout to recover.

Thanks, i'm really just to lazy to look all those stats up. Great job and kudos to you.

A 3 minute TV timeout isn't very long when you are gasping for air. Stokes isn't conditioned to play 30+ minutes a game. Yet.

Stokes has been practicing for week, everyone has for several months. It doesn't take a genius to know that it makes a difference.

I'll take Coach Martin's more qualified decision.

Do coaches not make mistakes? I don't see how his decision worked out at all anyway.
I like CM. It's not about that. I also thought Stokes shouldn't be up high setting picks while The Cooler was posting on the block. That's when he started shooting J's. He put him on the block and he dominated. Then, we didn't see it again.

Coaches make mistakes. Hopefully he learns from them.

Winning on the road in conference play is hard, but losing to this UGA team is tough to rationalize.

I bet he'll be getting close to 30 within 2 weeks. He played 17 against Ky and had 26 tonight.

UGA wanted it more in OT. Both teams were fatigued, but UGA looked fresher to me. We seemed to lose our edge some in OT on the defensive end. We should've won that game in regulation, but boneheaded pass after boneheaded pass did us in.

Well this is just false, we haven't had many, but I saw at least 1 tonight where we ran a beautiful play out of a timeout. It resulted in a Maymon layup.

I must have been in the bathroom and missed our one good offensive set out of a TO.

This team has to find how to close a game out. They all keep looking at each other to take the lead at the end of close games. When they figure this out we will win a lot more games.
