I was a Butch supporter until I saw this...(DISTURBING)

Bobby Bowden purportedly was a heck of a trombone player. Shaquile O'Neill played sax in school, Michael Jordan was a trumpet player. Samuel L. Jackson played horn and was drum major for his marching band. The list is long and amazing of big name celebs and athletes with formal instrumental music training.

Just have fun with it. I always thought there was something familiar about CBJ's bravado. It just figures that he a trumpet player. :)

Dat ego.

That band pic actually makes me feel better. Band members work harder than the average person, know how to set and follow goals, and know how to get to where they need to go next...

When Butch played that trumpet:
Grown men wept.
His high notes were detected with a seismograph.
His playing soothed savage beasts.
He once only brought his trumpet to a gunfight... Just to even the odds.
His trumpet playing charmed snakes.
Opportunity knocked with a chance at coaching but he was not at home... Opportunity waited for Coach Butch F-in Jones!

Lew Alcindor/Kareem was a fine trombonist in high school & became a jazz radi host in NBA days. He got it, too.

With all the things to keep you busy(porn, pot, and gaming) in your parents basement, you had you fish for this.

I "appreciated it" as soon as I read it. No dude should ever play the flute.

What is interesting is that the flute used to primarily be a man's instrument 150+ years ago. Look at old paintings. It's funny how it has flipped over time and generations.

Blue tick and photo would be complete

He "got it" with that photo.....lost it with the band photo...and "got it" back when he invited all the former players to return, in the off-season.

How many female band members of any stripe were there back then?

Butch blew that trumpet and the walls of Jerico began to crumble. I wish Butch all the luck in the world blowing thru the SEC schedule

East Tennessee area? I'm hopefully starting grad school in the next year for music Ed.

No, I'm in Alabama. Missing the East TN area though and all of my family there. Best of luck to you in your pursuit of higher learning.

I once had a Sky Blue Leisure Suit that I wore in late 70's and hair touching my shoulders. I usually wore it with a white silk shirt that had a huge Elvis collar, true!

I am glad nobody I know has a pic of me then!

I guarantee you a lot of the players on the team enjoy blues and r&b music which contains lots of band instruments
