To anyone who thinks Milton is the one at fault here, you are delusional. Other than the stupid decision to heave it downfield while being sacked, Milton played well throwing the ball. Deep throws were were pretty spot on. Was he perfect? No. Couple of late passes. Couple of "just missed" passes. But Hooker was never perfect either & missed his fair share. There was considerable improvement from Milton tonight in comparison to the last two weeks. Majority of the "put Nico in" crowd are the same ones who didn't want Milton starting this season & thought Nico should've been handed the job when he stepped on campus. Those people can't be reasoned with. And before anyone insinuates that I can't be reasoned with in regards to Milton being benched, I thought Heupel waited too long to pull Milton in favor of Hooker back in 2021.
Whoever is calling the plays on offense is calling the plays scared and I'm not sure why. Run after run up the middle with varying success. Screen passes that sometimes worked after the WR broke a tackle or made a move on a defender. Milton got the ball to the guys he was supposed to tonight. The OL is shoddy, inconsistent, & weren't giving Milton enough time in the pocket, but when they did setup & give him time, he looked fine. Nobody can truly look at the two big passes on the first drive or the long pass to McCoy for TD & think Milton is incapable of being our QB.
Willie Martinez should be thrown off the team plane mid-flight. Tim Banks's status as DC should be re-evaluated sooner than later.
There is a lot of blame to be passed around tonight, but none of it should fall on Milton.
