the best thing that could happen to you would be bruce leave and you all snag a good young coach that teaches the value of fundamentals and defense and mental toughness. bruceball is alot of smoke and mirrors to me.
Well it's also a bit more difficult, I'm sure, to recruit to Minnesota than to UK. Either way, I'm not saying he'd be my 1st choice, but I wouldn't be upset if it did happen. I doubt it will, though.
Saying he struggled to recruit is a bit of a stretch. He struggled to recruit to the level of Pitino and Calipari is much more of an honest statement. Here's my problem with Tubbs:
The man knows his X & O's. There is no doubt. He can bring great D and solid halfcourt O to UT. That'd be nice. But the man struggled to recruit at KENTUCKY!!!!! We are talking about the 2nd or 3rd best program in the nation. I just don't think he can recruit here. Now if you can get some great asst. coaches to recruit for him, I'd think that'd be good.
The 'AA didn't hammer Indiana. The reprobates Sampson had populated the roster with all left or were told to leave. That's why they had to start over, not any sanctions. Here is the thing we have to keep in mind guys. The penalty will drive what kind of coach we get. If its just a postseason ban or just a year suspension then... Hamilton can open his checkbook and get a hot name. However if we get hammered like Indiana did and blackballed then coaches will be scared to death to come here because of all the resrictions. At that case then even Buzz peterson wouldn't take this job back.
