If Kiffin Stayed

And I would trade what's left of that number 3 class with whatever Vandy had pulled in that year.

I was talking about our rivals who routinely pull in those kind of classes. You don't beat them with just top 15 classes unless you're the next Saban.

sweet comeback! go after someone who used incorrect grammer on a message board. good god man, you're pathetic, and the fact that you're from Chattanooga makes me think less of that place.

Take that back! Chattanooga is a Great place. Everybody has their share of azz hats.

Chattanooga isnt a bad place. its just like every other city they all have there dumbazzes.but hes a chemical engineer, means he works for the sewer depatment.

If Kiffin stayed we as fans would not be so upset with where we are this year or the next couple of years. We would agree that with the extensive probation that he would have us on, none of our games would really matter. Additionally, we would be all over the news/ESPN with stories of another Vols player arrested for....(insert whatever). Thank goodness this guy is gone.

if you can't keep from taking personal shots at each other just move on to the next thread.

Our last coach did bring a lot of excitement to the fanbase in a short amount of time and also created a whirlwind in the media at the same time, although at least 80% of that was negative press. He did win some games that year that were toss-ups at best. I don't imagine the jr. and sr. draft picks on that team had anything to do with that in some peoples minds. He also played Bama and UF close, but close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. Whether you face the facts or not, he was the reason the football program was before the "AA in Indy in June. We would have constantly been under scrutiny had he stayed, if not under sanctions. He had a top 10 recruiting class, but check out that class now. He is a great recruiter and I won't deny that. I only question the methods he was using to be good at it. There is no way to tell whether he would have done any better than CDD is right now. The one thing we do know is CDD is trying to do it right. We don't know if he will be the guy to bring us back just as we didn't know if our last coach was. Regardless, CDD is here for at least a couple more years. We can sit around and go back and forth over whether he is the guy or we can all stand behind him and give him the support he needs and maybe, just maybe, it will help him in recruiting enough for him to be the guy. If not, that recruiting will help the next coach.

my question is, if Dooley had pulled off a stunning 19-17 win over Minnesota would people be using as evidence of his coaching skill?

He was on track for no worse than a top 5 class in 2010, so yes.

He's losing to ASU out in the PAC-12. He's doing really well with more talent than he had here. He'd obviously succeed here though.

I've long since stopped caring. I'd rather be considered a negavol than an ignorant blind sheep who just keeps carrying water for DD even in the face of a mountain of evidence that he has no business coaching an SEC school.

Looks to me like you "an ignorant blind sheep" who keeps having wet dreams for the over hyped, under delivering Kiffin.
