I didn't even mention O'Neill. I think Green was a joke; the fact that he couldn't get a job anywhere after UT supports that. But the fact remains that he had comparable success to Pearl.

Yeah, Green is recognized as one of the greatest coaches in NCAA history. That's why every school in america was after him when he left UT and why he has continued winning year after year to this very day, oh wait.

Losing to Ohio State barely because the refs let Greg Oden play with fresh blood on his jersey is not the same thing as getting punked because you have no control over your team and your point guard is throwing up threes early in the shot clock over and over and over.

So yes, Pearls second best season is better than Greens best.

I loved lots about Tony H, but in that game it was like Mookie Blaylock during a cold streak...stop launching the quick three!

I didn't say it wasn't. I also think Pearl is a much better coach than Green. The point is that other people than Pearl can win here.

Law, I actually agree that if Pearl leaves (after the NCAA releases its findings) we can get a really solid coach here.

That is in large measure due to Pearl being the best coach in program history, but if he is gone people will feel like there is a reason for it.

I just think when people compare him to Mears or Devoe I cannot argue too much with them because of the NCAA difference then. But Green? I was there. Pearl is worlds better than Green, O'Neill (yes despite the game last season), Houston and Buzz...

I am not saying that we cant get a successful coach if Pearl leaves, just past history doesnt support it. Example 8 ncaa births before pearl in a period of 50 years according to you. The facts are facts, Pearl is the most successful coach in UT mens basketball, it is not just me saying it, but the media and every other sports announcer. I dont see him getting ran out due to minor violations, and just cause he tried to hide it. I mean, I guess you guys have always came out and told the truth. (whatever) if you say you did you are lying.
