aaah... and I'm not sure I ever correctly addressed the OP's statement. Pruitt IS a legit coach. Despite my inability to understand his QB decisions, it is yet to be determined whether he is a HC that should remain employed at UTK. I would think he is, and I hope he is. - though I remain baffled by this QB stuff that drags and drags and drags on -- without the slightest hint of sustainable improvement.

I don't disagree with you on that one. Mac Jones probably would be doing absolutely nothing here, and JG would probably be an adequate starting QB for Alabama, even if just purely as a function of their superior offensive line and WRs. I mean, I don't think Mac Jones has the stats he does through 3 games because he's an incredible talent or highly developed - he has all day to throw to wide open WRs.

He was incredibly developed by the time he got to Ohio State.

We lost to Georgia yesterday with a 4th string QB.

Our defense played their asses off. And guarantano handed them the game by being concrete footed in the pocket, slow to make decisions, and just completely inept.

This isn’t a shock either. We’ve known what we have at QB for 3 years now. The fact that guarantano has started a game after the Bama game last year(even before that if we’re being honest), makes me SERIOUSLY wonder if Pruitt is a competent coach.

And makes me wonder if our administration is competent giving him an extension....

JG is the best QB UT has to win now. Weird he is not given any more credit then he gets.

Fields did get a series or a few plays in the 1st half of most games and Alabama, Georgia and Ole Miss do also. You asked for examples and I gave them to you. More teams may also do it.

BM and RPO ? Maybe , He certainly has the agility. Someone earlier made the statement JG does not have the ability to run an RPO which Chaney would prefer.
I don’t see a my reason BM could not do it unless he is mentally challenged.

I am curious as to whether it is window dressing or is it something more. I want to know who the O-line and the team really want under center. Never in my years have I seen such a passive display at QB, no emotion. He doesn't get his o-line fired up to want to play for him. I never like Baker Mayfield but honestly, we need a QB that brings that kind of fire. You don't have to be great but you have to show you care. JG provides neither of these qualities; no emotion besides pouting and sulking which is counterproductive.

We'll never know. All we've heard from the players is that they're 100% behind JG. None of them are going to speak negatively about him to the media. Neither will the coaches. This is why I think interviews and pressers are pointless if you want to know anything outside of who will/won't be present for a game. It's nothing more than sugar coating and coach speak. I think that's why a lot of people found Spurriers and find Leach's and Kiffin's speeches so refreshing and entertaining.

We're you saying this the first half of the game? Sounds like every other half glass full fan that wants to make excuses for the loss. We showed we could play with the big boys, and then we collapse. GA didn't change anything about their game except get inside of JG head. Played man and press coverage on the receivers daring JG to beat them, and they were right.

The first half I was beyond pissed because of boneheaded plays the defense was making like Deandre coming within a yard of the qb after he threw it. The defense played hard but they shot themselves in the foot countless times. The defense wasn’t killing it. The score should have been 17-14 had it not been for an unforced snap error to start the game.

I’m very aware of who we’ve played.i just think it’s hilarious all the dipshits that come out of the woodwork that start hurling personal insults at the coaching staff because they are mad. I don’t think everyone is giving the UGA defense the proper respect they deserve . Yeah we were not good, but they are elite.

I think the issue is that most of us were expecting our o-line to be elite as well. Not saying I expected a win, but the mistakes they had along with getting beat at the line of scrimmage the way they did all game is inexcusable. Just sayin, I think most of us expected a little better than what was shown. Even Vegas did or they wouldn't have set the line at 12.5.

Honestly I'd have to say it would be more likely they'd hire Gruden than Freeze. Could've got Freeze on the cheap but the 'ethical' those pesky issues got in the way.
