Obviously not...HC and Asst HC just roll balls out on to the court and drink coffee. There is absolutely no need for him to be here till mid July...it isnt a demanding job. What was that you said about a stupidity meter?

Really? Hey we hired a coach from the Boston Celtics who is competing for an NBA championship right now; he'll give you a call and you can watch him compete and coach against the best players and coaches in the world until he gets here, possibly with an NBA title.

doesn't really change the fact. He's coaching Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen, three of the biggest stars in basketball today. 3 likely HOFers. Recruits will be so pissed that they are getting a coach who has coached them. Oh the horror.

Because he makes 5.5 million per year, and he would likely make 2 million here. Why wouldn't he try to hang on and see if Rivers leaves, and he can take over?? Even if he doesn't, if he's this awesome college coach people are making him out to be, then big name schools should be beating down his door next year or sooner.

If it happens, Frank is not going to make 5.5 million a year as Rivers' successor. Swing....and a miss.

He's already shot down overtures from Big East schools, and has said that Tennessee is really the only job that intrigues him. And again, how hard is it to understand that if there was any prayer that he was going to get the Celtics job, he would laugh at Tennessee when they tried to contact him.

And what gave you that impression? I've been high on Frank since he was mentioned because I've watched him as a coach for years. Jason Kidd is one of my favorite players so yes...i do know what kind of coach he is. And I'm glad you know who our next coach is going to be. Someone tell these mods to close up all these threads. The guy that reads minds and predicts the future knows how it's all going down. Seriously man? lol. You just want to argue or debate with someone. You obviously know the set schedule that Boston's assistants are put on, you know who I watch and don't watch, don't believe that phone calls or any other business can be done while working every second of the day for Boston. At least we agree on one thing....Frank would be an upgrade but Byrd will not be the next coach at UT.

He also had signed Derrick Williams, Solomon Hill, and MoMo Jones before he resigned. Looks like he was really struggling to get players at USC.

I never said he could out recruit him, I just stated that he has much more of a base to go off of right now than Frank does. Byrd has spent years building relationships in college, Frank hasn't. All Frank would have at first is his name, and no college experience that is worthy of mentioning to pitch.

:) Frank would be the best fit for UT a Quality pro coach. Were not taking a coach from a university playground. Frank man, I hope we can make this happen. He will be better then our good Friend Pearl. He will be able to impress the player here now and the recruits coming in. And he will be a great recruiter himself.:crazy::clapping::crazy: Come on Frank! Come to UT we can't wait.
