Pretty much everything negative that can be said about Butch has now been said, same with everything positive. No one is going to be proven right, or wrong, until we start seeing results (or lack thereof). That being said, can we please stop bashing our head coach at least until he does something to merit said bashing?

We all agree that we want him to succeed, and bashing him isn't going to help at all.

If you're a true VFL, you'll get behind our coach. He deserves every bit as much of a chance as Dooley got.

This year, anyway. Michigan wasn't as good as advertised, nor was Michigan state. What's their record in their last 4 games against Navy? And Tulsa? They were supposed to have a tough schedule this year that ended up being solid, but not the murderers row most sec teams face every year. I still agree they should be number one, but they've played some stank football and gotten away with it. Hell, if Pitt coach didn't pull some serious Dooley, they would have beat the Irish. I suppose the leprechaun giveth.

Wish that were not true - but really we havent been a top shelf program since the decline in 2005 at the end of the Fulmer era - then you add the Kiffin disaster + the Dooley period, its been quite a bit.

The few slack years at the end of Fulmer could be excused as a dip - but each cycle, UT has not recovered has established a new baseline. I do expect Jones to move that baseline upward.

Must completely agree with this sentiment. There is no doubt that Petrino can coach but why do you think out of all the coaches just hired, his name was never in any serious mention in the SEC? Because even though he may build a winning program, he is just as likely to destroy it through his "other" activities - and teams have decided that he is just not worth the risk. Wish they would have had that same understanding about Kiffin :(

They played MiSt, Mi, Ok, and UselessSC. We played AL, GA, FL, and SC. Those 4 were perennial top 5/10 dwellers. I don't think you can compare ND's schedule to ours. Not that we did well, but had ND played our schedule, they wouldn't be playing in the NC game.

I hate Notre Dame. The only team on earth that could get me to cheer for the Bammers (right after I cheer for a meteor strike or zombie outbreak which causes the U.S. government to bomb the stadium).

Sumlin...we didnt stand a chance...they had so much trash talked about them coming to the SEC and were going to get a real taste of SEC football...well i hate to say it but they stepped up BIG...solid team...solid coach already in an SEC program that appears established already...they beat BAMA and many other teams with caliber...why would he leave????



I guess what im trying to say is stop crying about the hire and give the man support...He has a PROVEN record...maybe not in the SEC but hey neither did Nick Saban....Lets give Jones the support he deserves and see what he brings to the table...after all it can't be worse than 4-23 in the SEC.

The bottom line is Hart is incompetent.

Any worthy AD would have kidnapped the coach we wanted and forced him to work here. Of all people, he chose Jones.
