'20 IL S Antonio Johnson

Spraggins' offer list is pretty weak at the moment. He'd be dumb to jump ship unless a top-10 D1 team is offering him, unless he just wants to stay closer to home and go to Missouri.

With that offer list I hope he bails

Man, there is always an excuse for our recruits.

I am neutral on this, we can't erase 10 years and say that was then, and this is now. 17 year old men will change their decision a lot, I am sure the other schools are playing up the fact that Pruitt is loading up on Dbs.

I am going to be honest, I thought he got an offer because of his relationship with his team mate, I am sure he is a good player......it was the first thing that came to my head. Recruits will come and go, but the Vols will be forever! I am thinking we are going to pickup a big fish and CJP was making room, who would decommit from one of the best defensive coaches in the country?............there's a story there.

I may have misread the article when Johnson and Spraggins committed, but my impression was that we had offered Spraggins to help get Johnson. From talk of Spraggins workout with Vols coaches, I hope that Spraggins stays solid. He plays with some serious attitude.

I predict some stressful days leading up to early commitment for UT, Pruitt and company are going to have to show some huge improvement in UT's play, it doesn't matter who we have or not, its just the business of recruiting, they want to see winners, not just ok.

i've already been on record about not freaking out over him decommitting.

but i am really sick of Jimbo Fisher and his band of misfit yellers.

they need to get their hands out of our cookie jar. we got enough to contend with out here with Clemson, Bama, Georgia, USCe, FSU, Florida etc.........i thought TX had more football talent than the rest of the country? that the in state talent was this huge advantage for them, and why aTm was such a better job than err'body else?

jeez/

A LOT of vultures have gotten fat on the carcass of the UT program the last ten-fifteen years.

We got fat on the carcass of LSU, Georgia and later Bama during our 89-01 glory run, it's the cycle. The hunted will become the hunter again, though, of that I have no doubt, but my patience IS wearing thin.

Kid was invited to come down with Johnson. Showed out in a real football setting and we offered and accepted. He proved himself and earned it.

Maybe next time we will think about the long game and pony up big money for a championship winning head coach who comes with instant credibility on the recruiting trail?

Pruitt’s resume when hired by Tennessee was as good as or better than:

Mark Richt when Georgia hired him.
Kirby Smart when Georgia hired him.
Dan Mullen when MSU hired him.
Bob Stoops when Oklahoma hired him.
Dabo Swinney when Clemson hired him.
Jimbo Fisher when FSU hired him.

Pruitt was a multiple-NC winning coordinator who had been successful at (and coordinated NC defenses at) multiple stops. Realistically, that has historically been a winning formula as a hire...even at blueblood programs. In fact, none of the guys on that list did it at more than one program.
