Illinois parade shooting spree

I agree that big pharma is part of the problem but think it goes deeper that that.

Some of the issue is intentional lies across the board about the meaning of anxiety/depression. I've heard medical providers say things like "I have to take this because I have a chemical imbalance in my brain". To which I have always wanted to respond with "really, who measured it?"

I'm sure some people actually do have issues with the amount of x that their body is producing. But far more people just accept it as a product of faith without any investigation.

Maybe you have a chemical imbalance. Maybe it's going to be present regardless of any other factors. More likely, what you are going through is a temporary problem that can be fixed through lifestyle modifications.

I keep hearing arguments about how we need to do more for the mentally ill and prevent them from obtaining firearms but never hear anyone asking why we have such a disproportionate amount of mentally ill in this country. Why are so many Americans on anti-depressants, attention deficit and bi-polar drugs? Depression is almost unheard of in 3rd world countries yet here in the land of plenty almost 10% of all adults supposedly suffer a depressive illness, why is that? Per Johns Hopkins, a quarter of all American adults suffer from some form of mental illness so those wanting to "do something" about these mass shooter events probably need to start there and push for answers as to why Americans suffer "mental illness" at such a high rate.

Wealth, power or lack thereof at heart of many mental disorders.
Income inequality linked to poor mental health
Studies have long established that feelings of powerlessness and helplessness weaken the immune system, making one more vulnerable to physical and mental ailments. Conversely, an inflated sense of power is among the behaviors associated with bipolar disorder and narcissistic personality disorder, which can be both personally and socially corrosive.

Recent studies have found that people living in developed countries with the highest levels of income inequality were three times more likely to develop depression or anxiety disorders than their more egalitarian counterparts. Similar results were found in a state-by-state comparison of income and mental illness in the United States.

LMFAO. If only we could all be equally poor. Or...maybe...just maybe...people in poorer countries are more likely to have more urgent issues to address than anxiety/depression

Also you know you've used an unbiased source when the first sentence is about Trump's ego.

Absolutely prevent? No. Ways to make this type of occurrence more in line with the rest of the first world? Yes. Meaningful gun regulation.

What meaningful regulations? You liberal dolts don't know the definition of meaningful or common sense. You want one thing, to remove every gun from gun owners. That's what totalitarian do.

Make him show a correlation between homicide and gun ownership first (it's not there). If he can't show that gun control will save the lives of the innocent, then he has no basis for his argument. That's why they play with your emotions and like to shout about guns from atop the bodies of dead children.

When everyone feel's entitled but only a few actually earn it, you have an issue.

Yeah, quite accurate

He's a right-wing extremist.

Because nothing screams "right wing extremist" like shooting up a bunch of white people in a parade on what would, in many people's minds, be the biggest nationalist holiday on the calendar?

I covered this on a post earlier but I can't make this particular crazy fit well either way. Just outside looking in you'd think he'd be more Antifa than anything. And as stated above I can't see anything that would do much to tether this action to what might (even under the influence of crazy) would seem to have the underpinnings of right wing goals.

This guy is still alive so it'll be interesting what statements might be issued. For now though I think lots of people are starting with a conclusion they like and filling in their own narrative from there.

Culture . people are embracing / encouraging crazy ideas, and beliefs that promote instability . I don’t give a sh!t that you think you are a purple hippo and you want to get married to your cat because your therapist says it’s ok . It’s not , and you are ****** crazy .

Did you rad your link? The whole article was talking about upper middle class and higher earners and their concern over social status. It was a nice attempt at correlating spoiled brats "problems" with income inequality.

The idea of going on an SSRI or anti-depressant is being very openly pushed. The number of people on my timeline who have posted about how important these meds are (fully agree that for some they are, but not as many as we provide them to) and how we have to destigmatize them.

I consider it like taking insulin. Some people need it because they don't make it. Others through proper lifestyle changes can avoid it all together and that should be encouraged. Some level of stigma towards these medications is part of that encouragement.

Simply put we lack discipline in our country.

I'd guess that at least half of my wife's friends are on some type of anti-depressant or bipolar type drug and none of these ladies are even close to being poor.

I provided a response to Hog's post.
Obviously people in poorer countries are more likely to have more urgent issues to address than anxiety/depression.
That's sort of the point.
Our high level of "mental illness" is due, at least partially, to our economic system. (which includes big pharma and income inequality).

He has pictures on his social media being at Trump rallies, a picture with a Trump flag draped over him, and tattoos of QAnon quotes on his body. Keep your head in the sand.
No, Robert "Bobby" E. Crimo III Is NOT a MAGA Guy ⋆ The Liberty Daily

And if he is not will you denounce the party that radicalized him?

Who they vote for is irrelevant . The media, social media, celebrities, and politicians are to blame for the rhetoric that sets these people off.

So in your ignorance, we make everyone poor so that a few have more to worry about than anxiety and depression?
