I agree. If he proves he is a bad hire, then bash the guy. But he hasn't proven anything yet. He may be an awesome coach, we just don't know.

You do know he was 2-1 vs Charlie Strong's team and lost that one in ot. Plus he did beat Vandy in a bowl game.

The Mayberry times with aunt bee rumors are over...i'm personally glad we didn't get Chucky!!.....We got something that we been really needing..A FOOTBALL COACH!!...so everybody you can take the cover down now off your face its over...This guy is gonna run a taunt ship with no favors for anybody...and like he already said...give his all for Tennessee...lets embrace him and call him ours and be proud of him....

Was very impressed by the PC. He is very passionate about what he does and it shows. Liked how he kept referencing the program like he had always been there. Want to see staff he assembles and players able to recruit but was impressed with the man.

You know it's not about if us fans like him or not, it's about the players liking him and buying into his plan. Will he be successful who knows, but I for one will support him because he is the coach of of UT and I will continue to support him till he is no longer here. GO VOLS!!! :)

No, I wanted the best possible chance at being relavent again. This desperation hire is not going to make me jump on the bandwagon (weeeee we have a great coach), as apparently you have. I feel that this was a last chance hire and Hart and co. screwed it up. We needed a rock star hire and we got William Hung.

How many posters to this web site earn their living by coaching football ? right just what I thought , about nil , so all of of sports fanatics need to get on board and support this guy and quit throwing out there we will be winning the east 3 years, folks the Vols have fallen hard in recent times and the only people who feel this is a top 5 -10 job are all us fanatics looking at the football world through Orange tinted glasses . Butch Jones will be fine, provided we give him 4-5 years to fix the Dooley debacle!

He has been a winner at every other program he has been at. Why do people automatically assume that he can't do it here. He has more resources at Tennessee to be successful here than he did at CMU and UC. I am getting behind this Coach until he gives me a reason that i shouldn't. He is not the sexy hire but was Saban out of MSU or Miles out of OSU sexy. Who know what he will accomplish that why the play the game of football. But he better Win! I'm all in on this guy! He wasn't what i wanted but neither was my wife, and i have been with her for a little while!
