Indigenous Marchers, Covington Catholic HS, and Black Israelites preachers = a buffet of media mess

Fair enough... but if you want to be consistent, then you really do have to say the same thing about the conservatives who were crying "False flag!" in October when those packages were being sent to Democrats.
Same thing, just not on scale. Most of the public were not even aware of the conservative "loons" spewing this nonsense before the facts were in unless the MSM reported on it, which they did after it became apparent the lunatics were incorrect in their conjecture, much to their delight.

Too many people are just waiting to be triggered and activate mouth before engaging brain. That should not be the working model for "honest reporting".

Placeholder for updated information. Original information was doctored to promote a false narrative.
What were the original media outlets that ran with this? I bet their sourcing was twitter, instagram, or youtube.

This is more in the category of a "false narrative" than anything else... A picture of a smug looking kid standing in the face of a Native American lent itself to speculation that the kid was being a p***k. He looked the part. Is that fair? No, but both party's are guilty of running with a false narrative that suits their agenda. Remember the suspicious packages that were being sent to Democrats last fall? Conservatives on Fox News (Lou Dobbs, Geraldo Rivera) and elsewhere (Rush Limbaugh) speculated that they must have been "false flags", sent by liberals to generate sympathy for themselves and to make conservatives look bad just before the mid-term elections. This theory proved to be false and ridiculous. We are in a politically polarized era, where at times, people aren't waiting to get all the information needed before passing their own judgment and condemning people they are already opposed to anyway.
Is it fair to hold the "journalists" in the media to a different standard than Limbaugh, Rivera, and Dobbs? Of the 3, Dobbs is the most credible.
Or, if it isn't fair to hold to a different standard, are "journalists" on the same level as Limbaugh/Rivera?

Obviously, some animals are more equal than others.

The point is this: Phillips is not simply a random Native man who was accosted by “racist” MAGA-hat wearing teens, as the mainstream press has reported. He is connected to leftist activists who donate large sums to leftist causes. And now, he is personally fundraising off the mainstream press’ misdeeds.

Given that the full, unedited video of the interaction between Phillips and the students shows that Phillips clearly approached the students, and given that he is connected to left-wing social justice causes, one could conclude that he targeted the teenagers for their support of President Donald J. Trump. Yet the mainstream press narrative is exactly the opposite – that the boys targeted Phillips.

Additionally, this is not the first time that Phillips has been at the center of controversy involving alleged racism against the Native Population. In 2015, Phillips claimed that he was “bombarded by racial slurs” by students at Eastern Michigan University.
He also lied and said he approached the students because they were shouting racial epithets.
There is tons of video and not one of any of those students doing any such thing.

They are. But if BB85's stance is tit for tat because those on conservative airwaves push agendas, then (it seems) to me he is either raising the credibility of Limbaugh and Rivera to the level of journalists, or concluding journalists lack the credibility afforded them.

And now, hysterically, some are coming unhinged over a smile/smirk. I don't think i have ever seen anything like it. They're making Trump look composed by comparison.

I'd hope you aren't just now seeing this. It's been going on since November 2016.

I haven't been paying that much attention. I live a cynical existence. Haven't trusted any media or politician for a some time now.
