I could really use some help understanding how some see this behavior as appropriate.

How is this behavior:
  1. Christian?
  2. Conservative?
  3. Republican?
  4. Manly?
What positive end does it achieve? What does anyone learn from it? How does it advance the cause of conservatism in any form, shape, or fashion?

CovCath faces backlash after video of incident at Indigenous Peoples March surfaces

This school was one our football team played several times while I was in high school. I went to the games, and even back then they were the rudest people. We only played them in the playoffs, but they would make posters about us KY people in southern KY, throwing things at people in the stands. Two grown men spit on my mom's windshield, it was her , her friend, and 3 of us teenagers, and grown men did that. I did roll the window down and threw my drink at them. It was a tough moment until my mom stopped and turned around and started beating my butt for it😆. It did cause those two guys to walk away 😂

I love when non believers try to judge Christians on what they think Christians should do as Christians.
I’m clearly not what is typically called a Christian but just once I wanna here the Christians response to simply be “**** you”
I love when the non Christan people line up like a cheese line in threads like this, but you never see or hear a peep out of them in certain threads about a certain religion that does much worse, and it has stories almost daily. They'll wait for months for something like this, just to bash anything Jesus related.

Seems to me most people are saying they are disrespectful kids with ****** parents raising a bunch of little assholes. I haven't seen the religion thing brought up.

Hi, OP here. I brought up the religious aspect because the students were on a field trip organized by a private Catholic School. Given most states' laws involving minors on school trips, whatever adults were there were acting on behalf of the school in allowing this to happen.

Christianity has been giving itself a black eye repeatedly with so-called Representatives of the church going on hate-filled tirades and spring exclusionary invectives every time a microphone or camera is around. As a follower of Christ, I cannot condone the actions of these people in representing my faith. Their behavior in no way represents the teachings and life of Christ. The message of Christianity is one of hope, not hate; inclusion, not territorialism or division; living by example, not reciting creeds then living in opposition to them. I pray that the Holy Spirit works in their lives and brings them into full communion with the body of Christ and that their redemption is marked by lives bearing good fruit for the Kingdom.

The adults present with the teens definitely share some responsibility for allowing the situation to escalate.

I haven't read through this thread to see the various takes on this... but I assume it's been pointed out how incredibly stupid it is to taunt an indigenous group of people with chants of "Build that wall!". Ummm, these people you are yelling at are natives. That means they were here first, short bus kids. Some people are just too stupid to be good bigots.

This is becoming comical. The MSM tries its best to spin everything.
The spin is coming from that kid... "Build that wall!" is audible during the video regardless of what he tries to claim. And that is just an incredibly stupid thing to taunt a Native American with... They deserve ridicule for being idiots, as much as they do anything else.

Glad I went through the whole thread. My response to the original post still would be this is only a minute long. How did a group of kids wind up with native Americans beating a drum there? The kid is just standing there. If the native American walked up to his face to chant what was the kid supposed to do? Is there video of the kids being hostile towards this old man? The kids response says they walked up in to the kids group while waiting on a bus. Why?

Hard to answer any of it with that 1 minute video.

Nathan Phillips' response in the face of his harassment, wow. He's seen things in his life that these kids would not imagine in their worst nightmares. And yet, he is kind. May we all be as graceful in the face of mockery.

He’s the one who walked into the kids face and started beating a drum right beside his head. I don’t tell bad for this man

Right. You should feel bad for the idiots who were chanting "Build that wall!" at a native. That took a unique brand of dumb.
