Ingram wins Heisman!

I do hate Bama I'll admit it, but i will also admit Ingram is one of the best backs in the country. You for some some reason or another won't admit the same about Gerhart.

That's where you're wrong.

Gerhart is a talented back, just not as talented as Ingram.

Ingram faced better competition. You can't deny this.

How can you say Ingram is more talented when Gerhart was better in almost every category. Yes i know he didn't play defenses as good, but he did what he was supposed to do and dominated. So to me he is at the very least as good as Ingram.

And to me, your hatred of Bama is the basis of your opinion more than anything else.

Riiiight....I don't know what I'm talking about, when based on your post above you pretty much agreed with my point.

Ingram would have been as dominant, likely much more dominant, facing PAC-10 defenses.

Fortunately there are two other facets o the game..

I watched enough PAC-10 football to know their defenses are garbage compared to SEC defenses.

Top 50 in Total Defense......

SEC
#2 Bama
#4 Florida
#15 South Carolina
#17 Tennessee
#24 Ole Miss
#28 LSU
#30 Georgia

PAC-10
#12 Arizona State
#21 Arizona
#32 Oregon
#43 Southern Cal
#50 Oregon State

Gerhart also racked up stats against Pac 10 defenses and ND's defense. Ingram would have put up all-time single season records against competition like that.

BAMA is about to show everybody why McCoy had no business winning the Hypesman. For once, I agree with the outcome of the award.

Not to mention our 3 cupcake games this year, (FIU, North Texas, UTC) Mark Ingram had a total of 29 carries. He put up all of his stats on VT, LSU, FL, UT, Ole Miss, ect. those are some kick arse defenses.

Jealousy becomes you.

Bama just joined the Heisman club and you can't handle it.
I can handle it & Jealous of what....i don't really care about the heisman deal,it is not about the best player....ingram is just nowhere the talent Gerhart is.... anything alabama can go to HELL for all i care!:the_finger:

I actually think Ingram was the least deserving of all the candidates. Heisman winners don't get benched for freshmen because they are underperforming ala Auburn. He might not even be their starting running back next year for christ's sake.

I call bull****.

He got a hip pointer in that game.

I personally would have liked to have seen Gerhart win because he means more to his team, but I have no problem with Ingram winning. I'd say he was 60% of Bammer's offense. Congratulations to Mark, and feel no shame in crying on tv.

What are you smoking? Can you send some my way?

You don't think trent will beat him out??

anyway like i've said before i'm done with this award we can now predict who will win cause it's just going to go to the best player on the best team and not the best player in college football which was SUH, Spiller, or Gerheart

I'd say they are at least equally talented. Since Gerhart apparently plays worse defenses, he should have dominated those teams right? Well he did. 1 less game than Ingram, 194 more yards. 11 more touchdowns on only 50ish more carries. You really can't argue against Gerhart. I'm not arguing against Ingram, but the Gerhart downers really are reaching. Just because they have different running styles doesn't mean there is a talent disparity.

Just got in from a night of having fun after watching Ingram win the Heisman and then unfortunately watch Bama blow a lead against Purdue. Thanks to everyone's kind words for Ingram winning. Truly classy responses (for the most part, a few about his dad were uncalled for, but I digress).

In the next few years I hope to see an SEC duo clad in Orange and Crimson standing on the stage with Richardson and Brown going toe to toe for the coveted Heisman Trophy. Again, classy responses, even to those who disagreed with the winner. That's your right.

Oh yes, impressive. <100 yds 0 td's against UT. <40 yds 0 td's against Auburn in which he got benched for a true freshman because he was sucking it up. He just dominated. Right... Ingram isn't even the best running back in the country. But the Heisman is meaningless anyway. All the winners clearly go on to NFL greatness. Ingram will be living with Crouch, White and soon Bradford. Ingram is a decent back, but it is quite laughable to think of him as a Heisman winner. If Cody doesn't block those kicks, the more deserving Gerhart is walking home with the trophy. It's not a team award, though the voters certainly like to think it is.

And Gerhart would do what Ingram did in the SEC if not more.

I would like to know how Gerhart wins the Doak Walker award and then loses the Heisman to another RB....That makes no sense
