IOC President Says Transgender Weightlifter Can Compete For Women’s Title, Admits Rules On Trans Athletes May Change

It's all solely based on them not liking his as a person. It's nonsense from a ability stand point. He's clearly a top 5 all time player. I would argue top 2. He's a physical beast with a ridiculous basketball IQ. And his longevity is crazy considering his minutes played and number of post season games played.

So is this your assumption regarding everyone who doesn’t worship LeBron?

I think it's the reasoned assumption regarding the LeBron haters in this thread.

Literally none of them have formed a decent argument. It's been pathetic.

LeBron is one of the most physically gifted players that has ever played. He does flop and complain quite a bit. I would say he is easily a top 7 player of all time. He needs multiple all stars around him to succeed. But as a person? I don’t like his social justice warrior BS but he has done a ton for his community and young people. He also seems to be a great father.

Can we get someone in here who actually knows a fart's whiff about basketball to come in here and give us a decent anti-LeBron argument?

Hell, we can talk about his bad attitude. His poor FT shooting. His pedestrian defense outside of crunch time. Tons of ammo here. You guys are just slinging short bus drool at me like I'm obligated to mop it up.
Like him or not, LeBron is a top five player all time and he hasn't even retired yet. It is ridiculous to hate on greatness.

Yeah, there are good Lebron critiques but not many. Most people just say stuff that's completely wrong. There is no shortage of people who will speak on stuff about which they know nothing.

Mike Wilson for the 49ers sat the bench and has 4 super bowl rings. The hardware is a reward but not evidence of greatness.

So, this is going to be your response regarding a player who averages more playoff minutes per game than anyone else?

Dur. Dur. Durrrrrrr.

This is the single most reasonable post you or anyone in the other camp have made on this subject.

You have my kudos.

However, almost every championship team has at least two all stars. He did it last year with just one. He won it with the Heat twice with Bosh and Wade putting up some of the lowest numbers on their careers.

Even MJ needed Pippen and, later on, Rodman as well.

I agree with you guys defending lebron he’s one of the greatest players even athletes of all time. I just prefer Jordan over all. Between Kobe and Lebron however, that’s a discussion I’d love to have. I think I’d lean towards Kobe bc he had that killer instinct and played every possession like it was his last, but you can’t go wrong with Lebron either. Don’t have to like Lebron as a person if someone doesn’t want to but to deny his ability in basketball is absurd

It was the best I could do on limited sleep. I was going for subtle with a hint of ridiculous.

I just like a smarter player. I like the guy who passes out of a triple team instead of shooting. The "killer instinct" spirit he carried was a great detriment to him at times. It cost the Lakers the '04 finals and Shaq.

I can’t stand the “oh Kobe had Shaq argument” shaq doesn’t get those rings without Kobe either. I’ll take 5 rings with his detriments just like I’ll take 4 from Lebron despite his finals record. You can’t go wrong with either player is what I’m trying to say

If the Lakers can draft Ray Allen that same year, then Shaq wins 5 rings as a Laker.

I know and it’s a pointless thing to mention in all reality. You can’t go wrong with Kobe or Lebron in my opinion.

My opinion is that Kobe was totally awesome for about a 5-year window in the late 2000's. Arguably better than Lebron and Tim Duncan. But the other parts of his career are nowhere near as good as advertised. For a lot of his career, he was a ballhog who took bad, selfish shots, and having a great team covered up for that*...and then when he didn't have a great team, his inefficiency was explained away because of a bad team or he was old.

When he was at his peak, it was cool to be selfish because it made the team better. It didn't make sense to ballhog when Shaq was his teammate and they should have won more titles and it's definitely on him that they didn't.

Lebron has always been unselfish on the court and he's always made the smart basketball plays. He's always been efficient, save his rookie year. Lebron has been getting serious MVP consideration since age 20, and he's still playing at that level 16 years later.

*I remember reading an article one time that showed the Lakers had the #1 offense in quarters 1-3 during Shaq/Kobe's tenure there, but that in the 4th quarter, when Kobe supposedly takes over, their offense dropped to league average. Shaq would get them to the 4th quarter with a big lead, Kobe would close it out, and nobody would notice that he shot 37% that night.

That would be quite the feat!

I think there are going to be some openings on a desperate US Womens National Soccer Team during the Olympics. We can go as a tandem and make history. No real physical exertion required outside of very minor jogging. Pretty sure 99% of my free kicks from 50 yards and in will be goals if you want to bring up the rear (no pun intended).
