iPhone vs. Droid

Please give me another one then, because I believe everything else is personal opinion. No need to mock others for an opinion over something as innocent as a phone.

Siri, battery life, the app market, ease of use and user friendliness, the OS (20x more intuitive), the actual phone casing and aesthetics are light years ahead and those are just some of the non debatable aspects off the top of my head.

The debatable ones would have a really long list that I wouldn't have the patience to type out.

I'll give you Siri and the app store, although I find Siri to be more of a thing I'd use as a novelty feature as opposed to a legitimate feature. And for the record, everything else you listed is an opinion. In actuality, my Razr Maxx has the better battery life, and considering the back of mine is Kevlar and the screen is gorilla glass, the whole casing point being light years ahead makes me laugh. Admittedly, the iPhone is better than my old Droid Incredible, but this Razr Maxx is a beauty.

Uhm - your battery life isn't close. I had a rzer maxx and returned it after a week. I get several hours more on my IPhone 4S - and the aesthetics - the IPhone blows it away.. are you kidding me? It's the nicest and coolest looking phone on the market and always has been.

Siri is very useful - I figured it would be something I'd never use - but I use it all the time to set dates, set alarms, reminders, get directions/gps, even text people when I'm feeling lazy (the voice recognition is surprisingly good and I can send messages upwards of a few sentences without any errors).

I agree about battery life, but the looks of the phone are all opinion.

I have had mine on for 36 straight hours. You must have gotten a bad phone out of the box if yours was that bad, because most comparisons say the Razr Maxx has the better battery life. And I am going to reiterate that your whole "looks" thing is an OPINION. And Siri is a cool feature if you utilize it, but I wouldn't find myself using it too much. It's all an opinion and about what makes ya happy. You're obviously an iPhone guy, and I'm a Droid guy. I'll just be happy to say that we live in a world where we can use them. They're both great phones. The iPhone 4S is better than 99% of Droids, but I really love my Maxx. It's kind of a pissing match saying definitively which one is better when they're good enough to be compared in the first place.

I'm far from an IPhone guy - the IPhone 4S was the first apple product I've purchased.

It all boils down to what kind of experience you are looking for and what type of user you are.
If you don't like tweaking, theming, and flashing custom ROMs, then the iPhone is a good fit. If you enjoy being locked down and tethered to Apple services, then the iPhone is perfect for you. If you want to make your phone truly yours, a high-end Android powered device is the way to go.
Personally, I love the flexibility that comes with the Android OS (particularly the Galaxy Nexus running a custom ICS ROM).
Android has finally matured with ICS, and is solid out-of-the-box.

The debate could go on forever as there are pros and cons to each. Call me a Fandroid all you want, but I'm positive that I would not like an iPhone nearly as much as whatever Android device I'm using at any given time.

There is no debate. The IPhone is superior. And I don't have an apple logo as my avatar. In fact - I refuse to buy any type of Mac computer and I'm a PC guy all the way.. so much so that I had a mini-vendetta against apple for awhile because of all the people claiming how much better Macs were than PCs - yet those were the people who don't know anything about computers generally.

The iPhone is better than the lower end Android devices, but many of the top-end Android phones have better specs and as the OS continues to mature (ICS was a huge step forward), some of them are simply better than the iPhone.

Agree or not, that is the truth.

Again, we could go at this all day and most in the debate (you and I both from the sound of it, haha) will not change their minds. Just my 2 cents on the matter.

The only thing I can honestly say the droid > iPhone is the processors.. generally they have faster ones due to the fact so many different droids are being made constantly and newer and better technology is available.. while Apple just doesn't give a crap and knows people will buy their phone even if its slightly slower due to the fact everything else about the phone is going to be the highest quality with all the bells and whistles.

The world will come to an end before droid has a better OS than the iPhone. It's just flat out amazing.

I've never had an Apple product myself until the 4s. I didn't like the iPhone at first coming from having a Droid for so long. I don't think I'll go back to Droid now.

well it's already more popular so that's the first step. Open source will always beat the locked down version in the end. Many will say it already does but I know how you want to stay away from subjective analysis

More droids + more carriers having droids = more droid owners - so therefore that is is a weak argument. The OS doesn't even compare. If there is one thing Apple is good at - its making operating systems.

Please expound upon us what the iOS5 has as far as advantage over ICS?

which major carriers don't offer the iphone?

Apple's OS is good depending on what you want to do with it. Of course they covered that on the computer side by offering dual boot.

again you're just offering up more opinions as facts

Many people entered into new contracts right before the iPhone was released on their carrier. That happened with 3 people in my family.. I still had to wait almost a year for my upgrade on Verizon... its only a matter of time.

ah I see so droid users are simply iphone users waiting on their contract to expire. Well that explains why android's market share is climbing. Thanks
